The real "Seven Bridges Road" made famous by the Eagles and written by Steve Young is Woodley Road (County Road 39) in rural south Montgomery Counrty Alabama

always wondered how accurate that was. There are 7 bridges on woodley but way out in the country. But there are 7 bridges a lot of places.

The Eagles weren't the first to record the song "Seven Bridges Road," but their harmony made it famous. The song was written and recorded by Steve Young, who was living in Montgomery in 1969 when he was inspired by a real road that crossed -- you guessed it -- seven bridges.

Dixieland Delight

Um...

Rolling down a backwoods Tennessee byway
One arm on the wheel
Holding my lover with the other
A sweet, soft, southern thrill
Worked hard all week
Got a little jingle
On a Tennessee Saturday night
Couldn't feel better
I'm together with my Dixieland Delight
Spend my dollar
Parked in a holler 'neath the mountain moonlight
Hold her up tight
Make a little lovin'
A little turtle dovin' on a Mason-Dixon night
Fits my life, oh, so right
My Dixieland Delight
White-tail buck deer munchin' on clover
Red-tailed hawk sitting on a limb
Chubby ol' groundhog, croakin' bullfrog
Free as a feeling in the wind
Home-grown country girl, gonna give me a whirl
On a Tennessee Saturday night
Lucky as a seven, livin' in Heaven
With my Dixieland Delight
Spend my dollar
Parked in a holler 'neath the mountain moonlight
Hold her up tight
Make a little lovin'
A little turtle dovin' on a Mason-Dixon night
Fits my life, oh, so right
My Dixieland Delight
Spend my dollar
Parked in a holler 'neath the mountain moonlight
Hold her up tight
Make a little lovin'
A little turtle dovin' on a Mason-Dixon night
Fits my life, oh, so right
My Dixieland Delight
Rolling down a backwoods Tennessee byway
One arm on the wheel
Holding my lover with the other
A sweet, soft, southern thrill
Worked hard all week

Honest question…how is “Black Betty” about Alabama?

Side note: we recently got a new black female kitten for the barn that is named “Black Betty”. CSB ????
