Yes, I met him back when he was at UK and I think he thought I was either the sanest or craziest person he had met. Never did tell me which. So, yes I am very sad at his passing.

RIP Coach Leach. Prayers to him, his family, and to Bull Dawg Fans everywhere. College Football was better because of his coaching and personality. Long Live the Pirate.

I followed and admired Coach Leach long before he became the coach at Mississippi State but the things he accomplished in three short years transcended just football. He did so much to tamp down the toxicity in our rivalry and brought a bit of fun back into it. R.I.P. good pirate!

To all the Mississippi State players, students, fans, and particularly Coach Leach's family: genuinely devastated by this and very sorry for your loss.
It's your loss most of all, but it's a loss for the SEC, for college football and for all of us who are passionate about this sport.
I was pulling hard for Coach Leach to come to Knoxville in 2017, and I was so excited to see him come to the SEC when MSST hired him. I've followed him through press conferences at TTU and Wash St, and he was such a unique and inspiring person.
Just a crushing loss. Loving the celebration of his life here on the RANT and elsewhere, and also seeing this website come together over this.
Keep your heads up, MSST fam. Go win that bowl game for the pirate.

Such a genuine guy. For some reason this one is really affecting me, even though I have no ties to Miss State. Just heartbreaking for college football.
