The better question is how long would he cuss you out for if you even looked at him much less actually said anything to him?

we all know Miles can recruit. I want to see if he can unfrick this situation from last year. If he goes 9-3 or 10-2 with an SEC appearance, he's on the right track. Anything more than 3 losses and I don't think LSU fans will be able to say much to defend him.

i met saban when he was at lsu. my gf at the time worked in the football office, so i spent a lot of time there myself. we would always joke around, laugh, etc- but when he walked in it turned into a funeral home. plus all of the sudden secretaries would argue about whowas going to lunch- "just to avoid him". My gf always said "we are leaving now- we need to...uh...study.."
he wouldn't even shake my hand when i said "how are you doing sir"
frick him

Lucky, you kill me with this...[
Look if you don't like him, fine,
but the dude has been at LSU for 5 years, and
has won more games than anyone in LSU's history.
In 5 years the dude has beaten every great coach in the game, including Urban Meyer twice (UF had easily as much or more talent) out coached every bowl opponet he's ever faced--- much less won more with Saban's players than Saban ever did--
Your conclusion has no basis whatsoever. This is
why we wonder if your just flaming, or you're just really that deluded.
FWIW Saban was skull dragged many times over in his 5 years, by Spurrier every time Spurrier faced him, and embarrassed LSU many times over, despite the great things he did for us,
Hell, Saban had 30 point loss to Richt in 2004. In his 5th year at LSU, after a NC.
Sound familiar?
Yet you base Miles not on a half decade of accomplishments, but a six week span, where LSU went through three QBs, a honestly, one bad DC decision in one year.
Again, we could do that to Saban several times over.

But Les winning that title the way he did doesn't suddenly make him a great or even good coach. Tubberville went 13-0, couldn't get in. Richt went 13-1 and couldn't get in.

yeah it's more like "history" now, not "tradition"..as in, bama's dominance is not ongoing now as it once was, and everyone knows it..
talk your shite when bama gets an SEC title w/ saban

TIGER BAIT!!!!!!!
I keep hearing of this "tradition" at Bama.....does he take snaps under center? Is he a RB or WR???
Get over yourselves and check out a calendar....it is now 2009 for some(all) of you stuck in a time warp.

don't worry. that will happen when we win the SEC title. no need to TELL us to do that. you can't exactly expect the fan-base to dish some out after going 12-2. that's worthy of bragging. no fan base in the world would NOT brag after a season like that (particularly if you haven't been up to par in a LONG time and have a history of expecting that every year).

you really think that no one thinks Bama is ONLY a team of the past now that Saban is here and goes 12-2... not to mention the recruiting he's doing?? i'm sorry to inform you, but i would imagine if you took a non-biased poll, that the nation would overwhelmingly vote that Bama is back on track.

Did you see what had to take place for Les to win a NC? Were you watching? Everyone needs some luck, but not like that.
Did you see what had to take place for Saban to win a NC? Were you watching back then? Probably not.
As an LSU fan who lived through both, I'll say sitting around sweating out the Syracuse/Notre Dame game, the Bowling Green/Miami(Ohio) game, and the Hawaii/Boise State game in 2003 was just as ridiculous as needing Pitt to beat WV in 2007 which was really all we needed. The moment Pat White got hurt I had a very good feeling about that game. And the OU over Missou game wasn't a surprise to anyone.
And that 03 loss to Florida was worse than either of our losses in 07. That was probably the worst game I ever saw a Saban team play (besides Georgia in 04, Ole Miss in 01 and UAB of course). Florida in 03 was not as good as UK or Ark in 07.
I'm not a Saban basher. I respect what he did for LSU, and have no doubt he's going to do great things for Bama as long as he is there. But to bash Miles because he isn't Saban is just dumb and really old.

back on track maybe, but back to dominance NO..don't get me wrong, they will probably win an SEC title in the next 5 years, but with teams like OM, LSU and Arky being as competitive as they are i dont think that bama will be completely "dominant".
Like i said, "back on track" isn't too far-fetched, but "back to prominence", "back to the glory days" is.
you and i both know when a bama fan says "watch out sec, bama's back!!!" what they are inferring to. And i'm just saying theyre not back to that stage yet.
