i'm sorry to inform you, but i would imagine if you took a non-biased poll, that the nation would overwhelmingly vote that Bama is back on track.

how many times have i heard that?

Did you see what had to take place for Les to win a NC? Were you watching? Everyone needs some luck, but not like that.

It's amazing how selective memory runs rampant through your simple minds. I guess Saban never needed luck in 2001 and 2003? give me a break

does the fact that you've heard that a lot make it less true?

i never see my comment mentioned (talking about the unbiased poll). so, i don't know... how many times HAVE you heard it? let's say you're right and it gets said all the time... i'm ok with that, because it only goes to prove my point. nationally, the perception is that we're definitely back.

Sorry his fans are suck dicks to make it impossible to like him anymore despite the fact that the coolest thing he ever did in his whole existence was coach at The LSU!

believe it when i see it. methinks you guys live off an inflated ego and wishful thinking. one season does not make it "true."

ok. that's fine. but none of us were convinced we were back in 2005, only hoping back then. there's a difference between the way THIS feels as opposed to the way THAT felt. we were under Shula for crying out loud.

it wasn't any alabama fan that put that on the cover of Sports Illustrated. it was Sports Illustrated that put that on the cover. besides, what should we have done? gone over to them and said "No man, this is a bad idea. Our school will get a bad name if you're wrong about us being back. TAKE IT DOWN!!! Besides we don't need your help to recruit over here."

not very many people have made the same point i made mr. ramp :P, so it's a valid point. it would be better for YOU if you didn't try to discredit us when you know that what i was talking about was true. i mean, if u knew we were just going through some random lucky season like 2005, then ok. but your argument doesn't mean jack if you yourself know we're back.

I lived in Alabama in 2005. I don't know these Bama fans you speak of. Everyone I knew and called Finebaum, we absolutely positive Bama was back. They were prould of the magazine cover and taunted me pretty good up til our game. I guess we know different people.

I also lived in Bama during the DuBose era. Bama did well under him but it didn't turn out like they expected. Sure every fan has high expectations, but not like Bama's.

now surely you're smoking some fine crack there. i mean, i'm not saying all the years were bad, but i do believe he had a 3 win and a 4 win season. those were among my lowest moments.

but, i'll give you the fact that a lot of bama fans were very likely all up our own arse and saying "on yeah we're back"... gotta love that false hope. but now, there's a difference among the fans' conversations now. u know what i'm talking about.

so, when i brought that point up, you ALSO knew what i was talkin about. admit it, unless Saban leaves us... we're back. and even if he did, he's changed the infrastructure (for lack of better words and understanding) of the program so well that when a new coach DOES get hired here he'll be able to move around much more freely.

ok that's fine. i can identify with hoping something you really don't want to happen (and likely admit deep down) in fact happens. heck, i'm an Alabama fan. that used to be the norm.

"oh god i don't want to play LSU or Auburn this year."

"please, please don't be stupid and lose a game like La. Mo."

i mean, we've had to worry about our HC games for years. i'm glad all of those pathetic worries are over. now, we're back to worrying about having a major season or not. and soon, we'll be worried about getting to and winning the NC game. and i'll tell u what, i will be one miserable wreck for that game.

i hope it doesn't happen. but "in fact" is way too premature. it hasn't happened yet. and since we all know Bama fans think can foresee the future, they really "in fact" can't.

Most of us are optimistic and hopeful because of Saban. He has accomplished a great deal in a short time and has all Alabama fans excited. It's been a long time since 'Bama was a powerhouse. I'm 46 so I can remember when we were. I look forward to the possibility we will be again. If Saban stays here a few years, we have a great shot at it.
