With it all on the line like this game, you have everyone ready

It’s game 3. Saving for game 4?

They’re talking about game 2...

You must not have ever played the game. You get guys warm and get them in the game. You don't have relievers/pen guys getting warm then sitting down.
Yes, if you don't trust a guy, you are getting other people ready..........or if you want a pitching match-up later in the inning. You don't have guys getting ready, just for the hell of it, when you are bringing your stud in the game.

You gonna respond to my Self comment now that I cleared up ending game 2 so no game 3 or just take that L?

One key example of the success and melding this team has gone through is the Bulldogs’ records against top competition. Henderson has guided the Mississippi State baseball team through 10 games against top 10 teams this year. Mississippi State went 9-1 against them.

Well aware, but a lot of that had to do with our hitting coach waking the bats up. Like I said go for Butch Thompson, you can't get him hire Hendo.

I didn't see game 2 so I have no idea what the situation was. I did watch this game. Bringing him in was the correct call and he just got shelled. How many times have you seen him give up 3 runs in 4 batters this season?
That's not on coaching. That's on your stud being off tonight.
Say you pull him after the first HR and Vandy goes on to get two more runs that inning. Your fanbase would be bitching about what a stupid call it was by pulling your stud so quickly.

He made the right choice pulling him tonight. A lot of us bitched about last night when State was up a run in the 8th and he left Neff out there after he had already pitched two innings.
Riley Self is our best closer, put him in in the 8th to go to Omaha with a run lead and ride our die with your stud and we probably don't play again tonight.

How much did he pitch in game 1?

We also lost to some shitty teams. We just have a group of scrappy players

Reminds me of me in 2012 right after Petrino got fired. I thought we'd be fine under Smiley because we had a "good staff" and "good senior leadership".
Hahahahaha
Head Coach matters.
A lot.

Not at all which is fine.

Honestly, I'm fine with them offering Hendo the job since he got us to Omaha. He deserves it if Cohen offers. But I'd still prefer Thompson get a call first.

That is a bit puzzling. I guess it boils down to how Neff had looked the previous two innings. You don't want to pull a guy if he is breezing along.
It's always easier to make a call after the fact.

I think he did a tremendous job with the pitching staff. With Self on the mound you feel like he is going to finish it out. But he did not, credit to Vandy for some clutch HR’s.
He needs to be made permanent. The players have bought in.
I like it that he does not let a pitcher go over 100 pitches and he makes a change when it is needed. Example, in the 11th he pulled McQuary after one BB.

Cohen is in a win win situation right now. Hendo earned the job. You don't have to pay him out the arse, the whole team bought in and they return 99% of it next year, and Cohen is still playing with house money next year.
Reason we playing with house money next year... Jake Gautreau. There is no better head coach in waiting than this guy. He's been through the ultimate damage control situation and aced the course.

Butch has already gotten a call. That happened months ago. He is staying in Auburn as he should be. Our next HC isn't Auburn's coach. I'm fine with Henderson getting the job as long as he hires a stud pitching coach. I like his low-key demeanor and letting the players take ownership of the team. He's got a great hitting coach already.

The stars are aligning for it to happen. I don't think it's a bad move.
