UK? The Volginas? What say you

I thought y'all always referred to them as the Volunqueers?

Anyways, I am of the opinion that the Vandy love is going to be short-lived and that the Vols will be spanking that Commodore arse, once again, soon. There is no permanent "doormat" in the SEC any longer - it is all cyclical, but it will be Vandy more times than not in coming years.

Actually, Vangina would be a much better insult for Vandy, since you only have to add a single letter to change the word. Add to that the fact that your team has a big "V" on their helmets...it just seems to fit better.

Thanks for letting us in on that one. I'm sure that Vangina will stick with VU. Any other suggesions on how you might shoot yourself in the foot?

D Dore: You beat us once without our starting QB and second and third team Oline and you think you are world beaters. I think if you go back and watch the game we were moving the ball all day until JF gets knock out of the game. Yes it is part of the game so congrats on the win.

Hmm, sounds a lot like a certain Cotton Bowl that some Mizzou fans always crow about...

There is no rule that says you can't have more than one doormat.

Let's look at this statistically.

Last year's doormat was Auburn. Over the last four years, here are the teams that finished in the bottom 3 in SEC football.

2012: Auburn and Kentucky (0-8), Tennessee (1-7)
2011: Ole Miss (0-8), Tennessee (1-7), Kentucky (2-6)
2010: Vandy (0-8), Arkansas (2-6), Mississippi State (2-6), South Carolina (2-6)
2009: Vanderbilt (0-8), MSU (1-7), Auburn (2-6)

Lets give 3 points for last place, 2 points for next to last place, and 1 point for 2nd to last place.

Over the last four years, Vandy's two last place finishes gives them the edge (6 points), yet they are improving.
Auburn has 4 points, but they also bought a national championship in the last four years.
Tennessee, Kentucky and MSU have 3 points, and Kentucky's came with a last place finish last year, and Tennessee's has come over the last two years, while MSU has improved.

With this analysis in mind, I would declare Kentucky the current doormat in the SEC, followed by Tennessee and Auburn.

He's gone now. A&M's problem still walks their sidelines.

lulz ... you may want to check your 2010 numbers again, where South Carolina is concerned. Correct me if I am wrong but I do believe we were the SEC East champs in 2010 and are one of the Top Ten winningest programs in the country for the past three seasons as evidenced by the thread still active on this forum. ---->>> SECr thread MASH HERE winningest teams in the SEC in the past three years

....

Missouri is a better program than State. They lost like 5 lineman for the season last year in the spring.
