That’s very respectable by that donor and I’m one of the biggest Trump supporters out there but $130 million isn’t nearly enough to pay all active duty. On top of that, the reservists that are still required to come in did not get paid last cycle and will not receive a dime until the government reopens.

That’s cool and all because I think this needs to happens in order to keep illegals from receiving any of our tax money but the notion that military will still be paid is false.

Democrats in Congress had the opportunity to ensure we get paid this cycle and only 3 voted yes. If this didn’t prevent any sane person from voting blue ever again, then I don’t know will.

Congrats on reading headlines and not being informed. This has happened for years with countless other countries, it just doesn’t make the headlines I guess. The U.S Central Command is located in Qatar, this is strategic as we are only allowing them to use a facility on a current base. They won’t have free roam and will have many access restrictions.

So you think everyone has Navy Fed? I’m very aware of the banks that are offering 0% interest loans. I have about 25 reservists that work for me and a good bit of them come in full time. With the shutdown, they are not funded to come in and are basically out of job. No back pay. Not sure why everyone thinks just bc it doesn’t affect them, there aren’t people who are affected by this.

I think people are bashing my posts bc they think I support illegals getting healthcare. I’m a hardcore Trumper and blame the democrats for trying to spend money on them. My only point is there are people affected.

I have junior Sailors who have to apply for a loan through a relief society just to pay their rent

Been happening since I’ve been in and still happening to this day. There have been several countries operate on my base alone, keep in mind they aren’t given free roam and are restricted to access many spaces. We even have some Brits and Aussies that take permanent orders to our commands for years at a time. South Koreans, Japanese, German, and India have all had a permanent presence at NAS Jax while I’ve been here

Might seem petty to you but this delays our readiness to deploy and train our guys to fight the fight that’s coming in a few years. I don’t blame anyone but the democrats so take your petty comment somewhere else and don’t forget to clock out of your insignificant desk job.

I know it doesn’t affect you. But in my current situation, I work as active duty at a reserve squadron and the reservists are not funded to come in and we lost quite a bit of funding for flight hours to train our young guys in the air. We lose our simulators at the end of the month. So reduced manning and not being able to train kinda sucks when we are prepping for things to come in a couple years.
