well now UF is ranked #7 in the nation according to 247, and ahead of UGA.
Yes, I realize there is a recruiting forum but this is less about this year's recruiting class and more about UF football going forward. This is a good place to note that UF is also ranked above UGA in this weeks AP poll.
I'm barely interested in the UF vs UGA series, but interesting to watch this.

Mullen is a very lazy recruiter which is probably a blessing because he also has a shitty wise-arse personality that turns a lot of people off. But he's definitely assembled a staff that has some good recruiters on it and that helps.

Florida is basically done for the year. Georgia has 10 more spots to fill and has a much higher average commit ranking.
Awful year for Florida recruiting. They will drop as the year goes on.

Florida kids took a wait and see approach with McElwain too. The year he got canned he had his best recruits coming in. Looks like the worm is turning for Mullen as well.

Schools recruit themselves. Coaches have some effect but it’s minimal.

and it would be smart to. Mullen is a way better coach of the game than Kirby. Kirby can recruit at an elite level though.

247 is assuming that everyone’s class is full right now.
Using their formula, a school who has twenty 3-star commits is higher ranked than a school with 10 4-star commits.
Florida AVG Star Ranking: 3.54
Georgia AVG Star Ranking: 3.73
Florida is only ranked higher because they have 10 more commits. 0% chance they finish the year ahead of Georgia.

Sure, the rest of UGA recruits may be all 5 stars, but it's likely most will be 4 star and probably with some 3 stars in the mix.
Bottom line is that UF is recruiting better than many of you UGA fans predicted would be the case and Mullen is a better coach than Smart.

This isn’t hard to understand.
In order for UGA to finish with a lower AVG star rating than Florida, our final 10 players would have to consist of 8 3-stars and 2 4-stars.
The chances of that happening is about 0
