For sure, not sure about starting a true Freshman, but if he is good enough, let him play.
As for Thorne, transfer QBs generally do better in their 2nd year in the Program. Thorne was also a late Transfer, missing all of spring last year.
I hope we just don’t play “musical chairs” with the qb again. I can understand benching but not running special packages in the same drive. That just didn’t work well.

That HS offense Freeze is running was a fad from around 10 years ago. Freeze probably isn't as good at it as Malzahn was.

Thorne certainly sucked last season, but there's speculation that he's no where near as bad as he looked. Our receivers were woefully lacking talent to compete with SEC defensive backs. You literally had the majority of plays where guys weren't open because they didn't have the ability to get any separation. We also had a lot of drops.
I'm not a Thorne defender, but I do think if he has a few targets - albeit extremely young targets - to throw to, he'll have a much better season.

To be fair, Joe Burrow had rather pedestrian numbers in 2018 so there is a chance Thorne improves dramatically next year. We shall see.
