Luckily for everyone's entertainment purposes, our governor enjoys a little moonlight destroying of our flagship university so isn't that fun?

Why yes. Yes, it is.

Sure.

Was Alabama fine with Bear Bryant's adultery and alcoholism?

Well they didn't fire his arse in the late 60s when he lost 5 games in consecutive seasons and use some "morality clause" as an excuse.

LSU just giving any top coach a reason not to come there. What a disaster this process is turning out to be for them.

Surely he has followed the time honored tradition of coaches who have fallen out of favor.... and got a cheerleader pregnant as well.

Hard to use with cause, when he's canned for not winning.

Fire him after a 10 win season, maybe...

Adultry and Alchoholism goes with LSU like Rice goes with Gumbo.

Agreed. Politics aside, which has been a factor since the Huey Long days, the shite show of having no internal leadership in an AD or President has complicated the situation.
Whether they took the interim tag off Verge (Asst. AD), don’t really know if he will be the AD at the end of the day or if he’s just a public face and placeholder until the hiring of the next coach.
Finally hired a real President , although some are not sure if he’s really up to the job.
Finally, if they don’t hold up to their end of the contract and this stretches out much further, most big coaches and even some G5s and Assistants that are in demand will not take the job for fear of them being treated the same.

BK should have never coached a down at LSU. They should have Mike Price(d) him once the affair was known.

It’s impossible to fire him with cause because of the language of the contract. He must be given notice of the reason cause is why he’s being fired within a certain time frame of being notified that he’s being terminated. That time lapsed before they even hinted at it.
Now they’re trying to say that he wasn’t really fired because Woodward didn’t have the authority to fire him.
Good luck with that argument!

That is how it works. Keep everything secret until fired and then throw them under the bus.
