What y'all get for giving La Tech a home game.

I didn't have to deal with some of the shite you probably saw as a Lieutenant in Afghanistan though. During OIF 1, we all wore chicken vests and had soft skin vehicles. Didn't get my first interceptor until month 6 of the deployment. Our two FOBs (McHenry, Gaines Mill) we BUILT from scratch.

Gaines Mill was one of Chemical Ali's summer homes near Kirkuk. By the time we got there (late May '03) it had been completely stripped. We cordoned off about a 3k area and had 1 company and the staff of an entire Mechanized Infantry Battalion (about 400 men)staying in a small mansion and servants' quarters and used a small guest house as an EPW point. The other companies were elsewhere in the Battalion AO.

By the time we got CHUs flown in (September-October 2003), we had also gotten a small piece of land near Al Hawijah (At Tamim), where we housed a portion of the Battalion as well.

We got air conditioning installed around late July, received 2 AFN kits in late August, and finally got commercial internet access in late October. Prior to that, we had one Iridium Phone for 795 men and each man had 15 minutes of call time per week.

Baby wipes ran out around June, but luckily, many of our Soldiers brought solar showers.

Since the ice was contaminated, we just wrapped our water bottles in old socks soaked in water and let the water evaporate to keep the water cold.

Filling sandbags to surround the CHUs was a pain in the arse...but it saved our lives.

If this was really about pubic safety then La Tech needs to provide refunds. The fact is that A&M offered multiple alternative location solutions and the La Tech AD (on College Station Radio this morning) admitted that La Tech was married to keeping the game in Shreveport, moving to Dallas or CS to make sure the game was played wasn't an option for them, that reeks of this being a money issue for La Tech, periods.

Those os us coming from out of state to watch LA Tech hand you your arse would have to miss it. Some of us have jobs......

Obviously if you have a job you would be coming in from out of state

but it DOES guarantee a win against LA Directional later in the season.

La Tech is not a directional school.

It shouldn't even have to be explained why.

would A&M be willing to move a home game to another state in the same situation? HELL NO.

So why are you complaining?

I've little doubt LSU helped "talk" La Tech and their sissy school in to moving the game.

A&M provided so many alternatives that it becomes obvious what the motivation was behind the move to Oct 13. Including playing it on Saturday morning and paying some extra money to La Tech and the schools who were playing later that night if they would move the game back an hour, amongst other options. Pansies.

Yeah, b/c LSU is terrified of playing the Ags.

You can't be serious with that theory, BigD.

LA Tech wants to play in Shreveport. It's their call. I don't blame 'em a bit.

Agreed. Sadly doing shite like this (an away game at La Tech) was status quo for our former AD. Hopefully it changes now that he's gone.

Yeah, just like Georgia Tech would be wanting to help out Georgia.

Yall gave up a home game for 250,000, surely that is not correct.
