I call it the Big 10 affect.

lol the SEC has the exact same shite.

FSU went 2-10 last year and went from unranked to #7 in just couple weeks almost completely off the strength of beating Bama's arse into the dirt to open the season. FSU is now 3-3 and will likely be an underdog in 3 or 4 of their remaining 6 games.

Meanwhile, Bama is right back in the top 10 b/c they beat UGA whose best win is against a Tennessee team that gives up 31 ppg to FBS schools, Vandy whose big win is against a bad USCe team, and Mizzou whose big win is against an average at best Kansas.

SEC SEC SEC!!!!

Highest ranking ever. Program with the most losses in FBS history. Haven’t won a bowl since 1991.

Coach of the year and playoffs in Cignetti’s 1st season and cakewalking to playoffs in year 2 after taking over a 3-9 squad. Props to that man for the turnaround

Imagine him at LSU...

Cig is a good coach. He made James Madison a force and didnt skip a beat at Indiana. He figured something out about coaching for sure

What makes me sad is that he figured out the key to the great SEC teams... a principle we've gone away from.

Stout interior line play backed up by some skill players.

Viola. There is the magic formula folks. Yeah, that isn't easy to get, but if you build for it... well... life is a lot easier.

Pass happy QB offense were inevitable in the new age of football. You know why? Because the NFL product demands QB. So now you have high school and college teams propping up the passing element over solid big offensive lines who used to be road graters and excellent at run blocking. It may go back to a middle of the road type of o-line at some point. There’s a reason that the NFL has lower scoring offenses nowadays then years past. The defensive lines are lightning quick in order to put pressure on the QBs.

When I watched football years ago, you would very rarely see a defensive end able to outrun a QB on a scramble or broken play. That happens on a regular basis now.

Well if you add Mizzou’s national championships in football with IU’s football championships, you get the same amount as Oregon. A big fat zero. That’s pretty significant

Their interior DL is on the smaller side, they do have a pretty big OL. They seem to have a great trio of LBs, mixed with a smaller but aggressive (and deep) DL. Looking at the portal, they grabbed 4 senior DL to mix with 3 returners from last year and they just rotate them

I cant complain with our defense this year, but I like that portal strategy going forward. I bet you can get a couple 4/5th year grown men DTs in the portal for the same NIL cost as a 18/19 year old 4/5*

Indiana's DC is definitely going to be a HC somewhere next year

Mizzou's National Championships?
Jeez, just look at the last time they even won a conference championship....1969! 56 years ago!

Maybe that is why their mascot is Truman...b/c Truman was alive the last time they won something of note..

Is that kinda like Clemson being OVER RATED resulted in LSU being OVER RATED which is now the reason Ole Miss is OVER RATED?

Seems like this Big 10 effect might be spreading.

You're the one who tried to white knight for Oregon. I said it was an interesting stat, then you went into trying to talk smack. And you're the one who brought Ohio State into the conversation I didn't. So you need to stay on topic

Then you got smacked down

Again I'll ask why any of this concerns Missouri fans- whether we're discussing conference or national championships, Missouri doesnt win either of them so why does it matter?

Now if we need any insight into the music city bowl, it'll be your turn to shine.

Hats off to them. They understand how to schedule OOC in the new era (don't give yourself a chance to lose ever).

Which is why no Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, or South Carolina fan should really ever care all that much about their ACC rivals joining the SEC. If the conference expands, I'd say it probably benefits all just to have those rivals join.

You're playing the games annually, anyway, might as well make it one of the 9 conference games and reserve the other 3 games for the creamiest of cupcakes.
