What happens if both wind up in the middle to the bottom of the SEC in their first decade?
It would be like UNC leaving the ACC or Ohio State leaving the B1G

I think Ok or TX will break through one year to the SEC championship, just because there will be no divisions.
It will just come down to the schedule. They could honestly play the schedule below and get to the SEC championship game.
Miss St, Texas A&M, Ok/TX, AR, Ole Miss, Vandy, Missouri, and Kentucky.
Now they would get embarrassed in the SEC championship game, but you get the picture. Heck, you could switch one of those teams out for Auburn -- you get the picture.

I get getting rid of the SEC CCG but that has helped more than it hurt

quote:Maybe, but they will never have that kind of schedule. There will be a mechanism to insure all teams have to play some of the tougher teams.

OU and Texas recruit as well as anybody in the sec as proven in 2023. When both pulled top 4 classes while still in the big 12

Haven’t they been in the middle bottom of the Big12 for the past decade? I see no change here.

OU has won the big 12 like 7 of the last 10 years. And both average top 10 classes each cycle.

Winning the Big12 is like winning a rec league, welcome to the big show, enjoy your middle if the bottom results for the next 50 years.

Yes, because Auburn proved this past season how far ahead they are of Mizzou. You probably need to throw the barn on that schedule too.

Both programs will have some 8-4 seasons, fans get very impatient and a revolving door of firings take place until they decide what type of expectations they want.

That certainly isn't an easy enough schedule for both of them.

Texas fans are rational. We have sucked at football for 13 years. We know this. Especially with Sark as our coach, we know we are many years away from competing to win the SEC.

Colt and Bevo are still screaming "WHAT IF." Rational shorthorn fans don't exist.
