Bama and LSU are not close to equal.

Even though Bama has never had a 15-0 season like LSU, I still think Bama is pretty good and close to LSU's 2019 greatness. Don't be so hard on your team. They have a lot of great accomplishments in the past.

So a single LSU fan does ONE “what if,” and multiple Bama fans do one for every season.

Everyone missed the point anyway. I should’ve figured that phrasing it in that manner would trigger some hypersensitive folks and get the discussion off-topic. I take full blame for that.

The point was that LSU has been as good or better than anyone else besides Bama since the turn of the century.

The secondary point that was implied was that by expanding the sample size and going back to when LSU became the program that is today, the gap between the two programs might not be as wide as is common perception, and that even with the 8 game streak, LSU is still 10-10 h2h in regular season games against Bama and 10-11 overall. That’s more wins than anyone else has against them in that timeframe.

I honestly wasn’t trying to start a dick measuring contest over which program is better. The results speak for themselves.

Everyone knows Bama has been more successful than everyone else this century and historically. I wasn’t trying to argue otherwise.

Some people on here are too sensitive and take shite way too personally.

That’s strange considering the series record is 10-10 this century in conference games.

It’s also odd that Bama and LSU are #1 and 2 out of all FBS teams in terms of championships won this century.

Seems pretty equal to me.

They hate being faced with reason.

To be fair there's a big drop off after Alabama...

Alabama - 5

LSU - 2.5
UF - 2
Ohio St. - 2
Clemson - 2

It's Alabama and then a jumbled mess under them.

Les Miles would still be at LSU if we win in 2011 and we may not have won this year

There is no way of knowing what “would have happened” but given the data we do have, Bama would likely not be where they are now and LSU would likely have won more championships in that time frame.

If you go with the theory that winning a championship boosts recruiting, you would have to figure that Bama would have had a lower recruiting ranking average and LSU would have likely had a higher recruiting ranking average during that time span. It literally changes everything. Hell, that one game could have altered the timeline so much that Arkansas might have actually won an SEC gamethelast two years.

This is why I never play these games. That and I don't want to be known as the team with 4 fantasy championships.

secuniversity makes a fine point.
