So given that the SEC may have half of the teams in Omaha, I think we can agree ...

That Tennessee simply choked. An amazing season that they simply didn't have the chest to complete - at home. Against Notre Dame.

They had the best players. They were the better team. They just choked when it finally mattered. Big time.

Gotta blame the coaching, imo. Not sure how you recover from this, because Tennessee will never have a better team than the one they had this year.

You just hate to see it.

I was actually looking forward to watching the Vols in Omaha. It was a uniquely great college team. Ugh.

If Texas and Auburn win then you could say 6/8 are SEC or future SEC programs. Tennessee fricked it up because it could have been 7/8

I figured we’d make Omaha, but I didn’t expect to win given the whole ‘99 since #1 wins, stigma.

Several players on the team are doucheschnozzles, and I don’t expect my sons to ever behave like that.

I try to find the silver lining - Hopefully Serreneaux/NeylandtheGreat are gone for a while.

57 wins. It was an historic team. Not sure how that can be questioned.

They simply choked when it got real.

But they had a dream season, right until ND turned it into a nightmare in Knoxville.

57 wins against schools who were not Notre Dame. It may have appeared that they should have been better because of games against others but they were not better than Notre Dame.

Yeah I know they just lost to ND. But they also won more SEC games than any team in the history of the conference in a year the SEC is going to populate half of the field in Omaha.

Props to Notre Dame. Seriously. But the Vols choked.

Not sure they win the sec if they played in the west. No doubt they were a good team but not a historically great team as everyone hyped them up to be.

I don't think so. They were beaten by a better team.

It was an upset, big time.

But whatever. The result is the same and congrats to ND. I think it's been 20 years or so since they made it to the CWS.

You living in WR and all, I 'spect it's gonna be rough for you tomorrow at the base. Hang in there man. Don't let all those UGA and AU fans get to ya.

Yes they were. ND was just playing better at this point in time.

VOLS 3 young starting pitchers just weren’t the same the last month of the season. That was clearly the difference between April and June.

I think most VOLS fans have known for some time that next year’s team should be the much better team overall but the bravado/humor this team provided was very entertaining.

Going 57-8 with zero career SEC starts from your weekend starters coming in to the year will be a nice little building block.

Offensively, losing Beck will hurt but anyone else that leaves will be addition by subtraction. We will finally have an offense full of Voltello’s guys. These older guys that Serrano brought in are just not the same caliber of player that Dickey/Burke/Moore etc. are.
