It’s been a minute and I never played in weather that cold, but from what I remember, I felt a lot slower when it was cold.. could have been the eighteen layers my mom dressed me in tho

Y'all, I mean this is possible for sure. But Bama lost to Vanderbilt and Oklahoma. Ole Miss lost to Kentucky at home.
The only two teams that really stood out to me this year are Oregon and Texas. And Texas was pathetic against Georgia.
There are very few great teams. A four-team playoff with Oregon, Georgia, Texas, and Notre Dame would have been just fine this year.

I can’t decide who to root for. Neither team has beaten anyone or done anything to prove they should contend for a national title. The B10 going 0-3 in the first round would be pretty damn awesome after all the hype and zero discussion about why they got 4 bids despite having such a terrible bottom 3/4ths of the conference.
SMU getting crushed would make the bigger statement though to follow up on the Indiana disaster. Teams that don’t recruit NFL level talent and depth need to win their conference if they want a seat, not get one of only 7 at large spots.

If we are playing balanced SOS then how we determine how good a team can play is by seeing who they can beat.
No one expected Indiana to do well because they only beat on team with a winning record and got their doors blown off by OSU.
