My definition of football post-season is different from theirs.

Saw that earlier. Was surprised by Ole Miss. Good on them. They have had a great sports year.

Calling a first four round exit playing Xavier and failing to make the tournament field of 64 is also a weird way to say you made the post-season.

Not sure how accurate this is. Texas men’s basketball was abysmal last year.

I didn't say it, the reddit post said it. Nobody is bragging about our basketball program. I guess the one thing they did accomplish this year was beating aggie 2 out of 3 times so I probably wouldn't have said anything if I were you.

Oklahoma went 6-7 in football, saying "it made the postseason" is pretty laughable.

Agree with SECDoctor. Also “women’s volleyball???” Who cares

Fair enough. I'd still take it over being pre-season #1 and missing the tourney altogether. I'm crazy that way.
Plus I hate basketball.

Arguably our best athletics season in school history. It would be cool if baseball or softball gets hot and brings home another title.
Thank God we finally have a competent AD who loves Ole Miss and wants to win more than anyone else. Keith “9 inch” Carter has been a game changer

Our worst team in our entire athletic department makes the field (sorry you don't like the FACT that its a 68 team field).
No Longhorn said they were proud of our Bball team or thought we had a good year. Fact still remains we made the tourney given the rules of the NCAA tournament.
Given ATM didn't make the post season in the majority of these you might want to sit this one out

PAC 12 schools have been doing it for decades

Weird that you would think that needs to be a qualification. We also made the post-season in each of these except baseball and football (bowl games don't count).
Just like the poster I responded to, I get to have an opinion. I don't disagree with his sentiments and an early exit before the tournament kicks in for most people is on the same level as claiming a bowl game is a "post-season appearance".

You are entitled to your opinion.
However, a bowl game isn’t the same as losing in the first 4 in the ncaa tourney as you can’t win anything from a bowl game other than that 1 game which is why there’s a clear distinction between bowl games and playoff teams in college football.
In college basketball it doesn’t matter if you are the number 1 seed or in the final 4 playin of the 68 teams, you can win a national title and teams have gone from playin to the final 4.
Major difference between the two

Volleyball is a hell of lot more impressive to me than women's basketball. Some random guys off the street would get their asses handed to them in volleyball, unlike women's basketball.
