I mean, when Ole Miss went down, at least we had some NY6 games to show for it. Tennessee has a full load of nothing to show for it.

Not at Tenn, and especially now that they’ve intentionally gotten themselves into NCAA trouble.

Tennessee power brokers taking a page out of the Washington Football Team Minority Owners playbook of internal investigations.

I'm not so sure he'd take the job. Liberty has a ton of money and if they want to they can match what UT offers. He could wait a year or 2 for another job that's less a dumpster fire to open

If Tennessee is actually Freeze's dream job, he'll come because the AD will change as well. Hell, it may all be apart of the deal to come Knoxville.

It's so much better for the SEC when UT is good, hope you find a way out of this mess soon

If I'm completely honest, I'm dead inside when it comes to Vols football.

The insanity of the AD over the last 10-15 years will do that to a person.

I mentioned the power brokers in a previous post, there's a reason why Mike Glazier and Kyle Skillman were brought in as "Expert" council.

Everyone of our 247 guys is saying Heavy (phil) is 100% behind Pruitt and wants to keep him. He’s a stubborn old frick. This is coming from higher and heavy may be going down with Pruitt

No no no, ofcourse this isn't true. Have you not read this board and all of the internal workings of the AD they have first hand knowledge of? This is all just a big ploy so (insert some sort of fat insult) fulmer can take the job himself after committing some egregious act of betrayal in order to do so. That man is far and away more evil than Hitler, Stalin and Kim Jong-il combined if you ask this board.

Naturally the Bama folks are gonna despise Fulmer and I don't see how it's not up for debate that Fulmer is an opportunist.

Bama fans get so irrationally pissed about the fulmer/majors thing

For fricks sake it happened 30 years ago and didn’t even involve their team. They just got mad cause Phil came in and beat their arse.

We hate Fulmer for being a lowlife coward snitch. Nothing more, nothing less.

Any Tenn fans have any additional insight into this, To me this seems a lot like mutiny.

Maurer was given a credit card to entertain UGA commit Mimms on an OV. They picked up RB Eric Grey and hit the strip charging up too much and at the wrong spots and it was flagged by UT compliance. UGA learned of the recruiting visit issues from Mimms and turned in UT for it. The NCAA had 2 other related complaints from other schools and opened an investigation.

Maurer was forced to sit a couple games, Grey sat out at least 1 game (TAMU) and Niedermyer(guy that gave the credit card/s) is likely not being retained. The NCAA is looking at the program now so UT lawyered up to protect basketball and baseball from being caught in an expanded investigation.

Pruitt was likely going to be fired and Freeze hired but the investigation complicates things. SEC seems to not want Freeze back, no real way to hire up while under investigation so it behooves UT to get the investigation over quickly and as painlessly as possible.

Expected fall out:
Staff- Niedermeyer is gone
Players- Grey and Maurer make restitution
UT pulled out of their bowl
