Nick Saban averaged 4 losses per season his first 3 seasons at LSU.
Nick was following Gerry Dinardo who had gone 2-8 and 4-7 the previous two seasons.
He won a NC in his fourth year as you know.

Kaylin Defour followed Saban after he had gone 16 straight seasons without losing more than 3 games in a season.
That is correct, Defour has already had more 4 loss seasons than Saban had in 17 years at bama.

Hell, Les Miles went 11-2 and 11-2 his first two years after Saban left LSU.

Nick Saban followed Nick Saban’s national championship season by going 9-3.

But you knew that.

Nick Saban followed 1991 SEC coach of the year Dinardo at LSU.

Nick Saban followed Mike Shula at Alabama.

LSU fans like to remember the Nick Saban years at LSU as 5 years of domination. Reality is Nick Saban lost 3 or more games 80% of the time at LSU.

He was responsible for 15% of LSU’s wins against Alabama. In only 5 years.

Nick Saban beat LSU 13 times in 17 seasons. That included an 8 gain winning streak.

For perspective on how poorly LSU has fared against LSU, Nick Saban beat LSU 13 times in 17 years. LSU has beaten Alabama 27 times in 132 years.
