Is this comparing how Kiffin was at Ole Miss and Kelly was at ND and Cincinnati? If so, I don't get it. Kiffin is a better coach than Kelly and it's insulting to Kiffin.

Kelly was apparently a lazy frick who spent more time golfing than recruiting and cost ND several recruits over the years that they should've had and would always make excuses. Heck, when he was at LSU he didn't even know the names of recruits and told them they had to schedule meetings with him just to talk to him. Freeman wasn't great his first year because Kelly had some awful recruiting classes towards the end of his tenure and their QB situation was one of the worst in the country. Freeman has elevated the talent level significantly and they don't constantly get blown out by top teams like Kelly did.

Kiffin is not lazy and he busts his arse recruiting, both in the portal and in HS. Golding is doing a great job, but Kiffin brought stability to the program and turned it into a top 10 program. The culture of Ole Miss that Kiffin built is still alive and well, and a lot of the players on the roster were Kiffin's guys. The talent level is basically the same. That's not a shot at Golding, I think he's doing a great job, but my point is that Ole Miss is still a top 10 program. If Kiffin stayed at Ole Miss last year I think they would've won those 2 CFP games and defeated Miami.

ND wasn't a genuine top 10 program under Kelly. He feasted on beating 7-8 win teams who were mid-level bowl teams and he constantly got his dick kicked in by teams with equal or greater talent. They didn't just lose, they constantly got killed. If the 12 team playoff existed when Kelly was there, they never would've sniffed the national championship game. Heck, if he was the coach in 2024 they wouldn't have made the Natty because a lot of ND's top portal and younger players never would've committed to him in the first place.
