He definitely fits what Bielema wants. Florida recruiting ties and heavy use of the TE in the pro style offense.

Shocking no one wants to be a part of Arkansas.

CBB said from the get go he was looking at a 2-3 week interview period. We went a month before he hired Smith and that worked out pretty good (if your not familiar with him ask LSU, Ole Piss, and Texas fans). I doubt it is gonna be a "HOMERUN" by league standards but if the new OC can do what the new DC has done in one season then HOG fans will be waving at the rest of the SECw from Atlanta!! WPS!

That was probably the most impressive part of Arkansas this year.

Does taking 2-3 weeks put y'all in jeopardy with any recruits who don't like the unknown before NSD?

I wonder why Chaney wanted out of Fayettville so bad that he was willing to take an offensive line job to do it? I mean hell Chaney was a constant at UT while we were in the midst of a nuclear meltdown and coaching carousel - despite not being the greatest OC ever, he's a pretty amiable guy that gets along with everyone (how on Earth he endured Dooley I'll never know).

Yes. KJ Hill decommitted after visiting Alabama. Chaney was lead recruiter on him.

I would guess similar to Chris Ash last year. Bad fit with Bielema and privately encouraged to seek employment elsewhere.

Didn't hurt us last year when we didn't have a DC on NSD

There was a rumor Chaney and Bielema had some disagreements later in the season. Best that both sides moved on.

He's referring to the article where it says that he considered taking the A&M line coach job.

I'm on the John Lilly train. Seems like the perfect match for both parties.

Chaney was one of our coaches that didn't get a raise and contract extension, kind of a I'll save you the embarrassment of firing you so you can go ahead and start looking for another job please kind of deal

Was Smith hired before NSD and just not made official until after NSD?
