It’s a very good read and there will be a lot of interesting matchups in the game.

I see Bama winning 24-0 just under the line. Our defense is better than LSU’s but our offense is worse, plus LSU hangover.

State has only played in one game this season where both teams scored over 10 points, which just seems crazy in today's game

How's y'all's secondary?

I'm curious to see how our Oline does against your front 4-6 in pass pro. I would imagine y'all will run a lot of Nickle and dime against us.

It's a bit better than expected. Safeties are good, corners are serviceable. LSU's secondary (so far) has certainly been better though.

Even with a good dline, Tua makes decisions at the snap or presnap so it's tough to get pressure on him.

State has a better defense than LSU, but I think LSU has a better defense to match up against Tua and the Alabama offense.

Basically LSU has a better secondary. Tua can get rid of the ball very quickly and is great at moving inside the pocket.

***D-line is better than LSU's. Thats about it. LSU has a top-3 secondary and a top 5 draft pick at linebacker

No Bama will struggle to run unless Tua is able to open things up passing. I think MsST has a better defense than LSU and a little better offense. Fitzgerald is getting better and this is MSST super bowl outside of egg bowl. I am very happy this game is at Alabama and not at state. This game will be closer than expected. Word is Bama has a bit of LSU hangover. Hopefully they wake up in time.

State is giving up 3.62 YPA in SEC games. They have up 3.4 YPC or more to Kentucky (4.87), Florida (3.47) and Auburn (4.29).

I don't expect Alabama to run for 500 yards, but I expect to be able to run the ball.

Huh? State has a couple of great DEs that can really rush the passer, but a lot of times the best way to attack players like that is to run right at them. SOG just posted the stats that shows MSU's run defense as rather average.

Yards against common Opp

Auburn - 328 vs LSU, 304 vs MSU
La Tech - 417 vs LSU, 238 vs MSU
UF - 391 vs LSU, 357 vs MSU
Bama - 576 vs LSU, ??? vs MSU

If Bama can hit up LSU for 576 on the road, they should do well against anyone at home.

FWIW, MSU's worst game is better than LSU's average game, but I expect that will change this weekend.

If you took those out and applied the average difference you come up with 497 yards for Alabama, which is funny because my model has it at 494.
