Should there be an actual BCS rule against a rematch?

Suppose, for example, a BCS rule that would prohibit a rematch if two teams (like Alabama and Okla State) are within a couple of BCS positions of each other?
Let's suppose for a moment that Georgia, too, was undefeated going into the SECCG. Would Herbstreit, May, and Musberger still be touting their own eyeballs as a justification for a UGA-LSU rematch in the BSCNCG? Would their eyeballs be reason enough to obliterate the importance of the actual game that just happened?
Say what you will, but all this Alabama rematch talk diminished the excitement of championship Saturday... a rematch violates the actual spirit of the BCS where every game is supposed to matter.
I'll give you one other scenario... suppose this was one of those years where UGA and LSU play in the regular season and LSU won the meeting 9-6 but then lost the SECCG to the same team 9-6... should a THIRD meeting between the same two teams be allowed because of somebody's eyeballs?

Everyone was calling for a rematch then, except for...guess who...the SEC.
It was the exact same situation with tOSU pulling out a victory by 3 pts.
Why were so many people against that rematch, but for this one?

I might be naive but I'm thinking right now that fairness will prevail and Oklahoma State will be voted in.... the spirit of the BCS will be preserved. If not then LSU is better than Alabama, anyway.
It's a funny thing... after yesterday I didn't hear too many pundits still saying Alabama is the best team... I think it's become obvious now that they're not. LSU is so good we don't even need a passing game.

Maybe there should be a rule, and it has come up in the past and they didnt make it a rule. Cant change it in the middle of a season cause you dont like the outcome. And all this anti-rematch talk/sharing the title... When teams rematch in conference championship games they dont split the title... What about the Super Bowl ( I know they have a playoff but we have to live with the system we have.) The purpose of the BCS is to match the number 1 and 2 teams together. Not what matchups you want to see or who you think would make a better game. Its number 1 vs. number 2. If a team losing to a 6-6 iowa state team is number 2 over a team who lost to number 1 lsu then fine.... But i just dont buy the argument that is the case.

No, there shouldn't.
Not even up for debate.

It's not Alabama's fault that your dumbass didn't get excited watching your favorite team win a SECC.
As far as your rule, no. 1 vs 2.

I dont think there should be a rule excluding a rematch and I don't think there should be a rule saying you have to win you conference. Maybe it should give you bonus points towards your final ranking, but it should not be an absolute criteria.
For example, what would have happened if GA had upset LSU yesterday? That would have excluded 4 of the top 5 ranked teams. While I would prefer a playoff, the BCS is designed to put the two best teams in the BCSCG. Because of that, the only thing that will keep Bama out of the BCSNCG is anti-SEC sentiment.
We all like to change/interpret the rules based on how it would benefit out team, but let's just let the two best teams play for it all and we will always get the best result.

There should be a rule against the BCS.

And if LSU wins a rematch, will the BCS have gotten it wrong and should have selected OSU? Will that be one of the criteria for the voters today?

Rematches don't prove anything - except that the first win didn't matter (evidently). Leave rematches for stuff like boxing and pool tournaments.
