I'd say 1 more year, this year's team was much improved from last years imo.

One more based on merit. But, it should be noted that some of the Tide fans here seemingly based off the Saban era, Murphy Softball era, and Gymnastics, are really rough on Grant and Gaspard. Not that they don't deserve some harsh critique at times.

Yes, this year's team played much more competively even if record and results do not necessarily show it. In losses there were close games and extra innings against some top competition.

Mitch is a good coach, he is finally getting some players in.

He absolutely should, and will be, given another year. This team usually starts four freshmen from a top recruiting class and will make a regional this year, a vast improvement over last season. Why exactly would he not be brought back?

He's the black bunny. The white one's his best friend Lisa.

If you had kids, you'd know these things.

I read earlier in the season that Auburn's & bama's baseball revenues combined were significantly less than most of the league's power teams individually. Till bama puts some money into its programs, possibly starting with paying for a quality new HC, it will struggle like it has the past few yrs. Even Vandy is now ahead of both teams, and has been the past few yrs or so. Skip & Polk proved that baseball can be a money maker yrs ago & bama needs to step up to the plate & put some money in the program. Aubbie at least has a decent stadium now.

I think we have upped our commitment with the long overdue renovation plan for the joe. I agree though, there's no reason Alabama can't be a baseball power and that starts with a good skipper

Side effects of funneling all of their money into football.

Besides the shitty facilities that former players and coaches voted 11th out of 12 stadiums to play in (pre-Mizzou and A&M), a complete lack of committment from the administration, no lottery to help with scholarships, and a crappy fanbase, then yea there's pretty much no reason.

We may finally get those upgrades and basically a new stadium, if that happens things will start to change. People need to give Gaspard a chance though. Alabama is an impossible place to recruit to, and everybody knew after his first year when he was a win away from Omaha we were in for a huge rebuilding job because that team was full of seniors. With all the limitations facing him, rebuilding at Alabama baseball is pretty impossible. However, he somehow pulled a top five class last go around and has the team much improved this year even starting four true freshmen most games.

Who's Mitch Gaspard?

Nevermind.

Sure, give him a lifetime contract.

Why is bama an impossible place to recruit to? A lot of those limitations can be cured with simply putting more money/emphasis into the program. bama certainly should have no problem with money with its football team basically printing money for the whole athletic dept. Gaspard is a good coach who knows how to build a program, if that is what is needed now.

Not really true. Just about every sport except baseball has had major renovations in the last 6 years or so.
