Considering a majority of this team will be back next season, there is no way LSU would get rid of Miles. This season is lagniappe. Nobody knew what to expect going into this season with a new QB and defensive coordinator. Next season is the year when expectations will be huge and we get Bama at home.

Are you trying to say that CLM will be coaching for his job vs Bama?

But it isn't translating to the field.

Fear? I am here talking nice about your coach and I hope you don't make a mistake and run him off.

Les isn't going anywhere if he loses to Bama this year. Come the frick on man.

So you're asking if he goes 9-2 but no SECCG is he on the hot seat? No. He could finish 7-5 and he is probably still here next year.

This would be a streak now and I am wondering how much patience there is in Baton Rouge. And I like and respect Les Miles so I am not down on him.

Think about it. If Nick Saban were not at Alabama the last several years are probably Pax LSU, one of the greatest dynasties in history. But it has not happened and most likely can't and won't..because of Saban and Alabama.

I think a loss to Bama might do Gus Malzahn in at Auburn, but I hope there is more patience in BR.

I'm a Bama fan, and even I think this is a dumb thread...

Stop posting Harvey!!!

Let me ask you this then. Should you lose to Alabama would Les be coaching for his job vs Saban next year in BR? If that is the case I think he very well might be.

I think Malzahn is right now.

I think Pax LSU might be a bit of a stretch even if we had beaten Bama every year Saban has been there.

It's not like Bama is the only team we've lost to since 2011.

Since winning the natty in 2007, LSU has lost 3 or more games in every season other than 2010 and 2011.

If Miles were to be on the hot seat, it would have more to do with just losing to Bama. Cholly Mac is remembered for losing to Bama every year but he lost a lot of other games and that's what got him run out of town.

I think Miles is much better than Cholly Mac. He truly is the best coach we've had that stayed and didn't bolt (Dietzel, Saban, Arnsparger).

It's way premature to speculate right now though. This year's team is definitely capable of making quite a run. Bama is the biggest hurdle, for sure, but there are a lot more land mines in November and beyond. Buga is definitely something special. I think we beat Bama this year. It's really just a matter of what excuse Bama fans will use for losing this time.

Gus is having a terrible year. Miles is having a great year. See the difference?

I was waiting for the Auburn reference to do your username justice.

I think Gus will be fine. He's not getting fired this year.

OP is a bama 'tard. Les Miles may be the best coach in the SEC. To fire him is asinine. This thread deserves to be on first take with Bayless and SAS shouting at each other!

A very good post , excellent . I am just not sure how much patience there would be down there, especially considering who it is Miles would be losing to.

We know Alabama is jealous that LSU made Spurrier retire, thanks for bringing it up.
