It just seems 6 conferences of 12 would be better than having all different numbers. 14 here 12 there and 9 in one... Would be easier to move to an 8 team playoff too, 6 auto bids with the next 2 highest ranked, unless you don't have a team in the top 10.

Up vote for Yes
Down vote for No

Oh great idea, this would really do wonders for the SEC Network contract!

I accepted your terms and conditions, and downvoted. I took no pleasure in doing so, because this is a good question worth discussing.

I also hate the symmetric division and conference idea for college football. The conferences having different sizes and rules mirrors the reality of our country, attempts to homogenize them would damage a beautiful thing. The conference are NOT identical because the regions are not equal and they tend to remain influx.

The NFL sucks arse, they managed to actually frick-up football. It's hard to do, but they did it. College Football has no need to follow those asshats' failure with emulation.

I can see that, but you can't tell me A&M is more like Alabama than Texas.

Don't worry, I wouldn't even try to.

I still regret the Big-8's merger to create the BigXII. It really looked good at first, on paper at least. A few decades later, no more Aggies-Longhorns or Sooners-Huskers games. Good series were put on hold to allow a conference championship game they weren't sure they even wanted.

Big 12 loses West Virginia And TCU and gets back Mizzou, Texas a&m, Arkansas, and Nebraska

Big 10 loses Nebraska, Rutgers, and Maryland and gets Notre Dams

SEC loses A&M, Arkansas, South Carolina, and Mizzou and gets Florida St and Tulane

ACC loses Florida St, Notre Dame, Louisville, Pitt, and Syracuse, but gets Maryland and South Carolina

American loses Houston, Tulsa, Nacy, Temple, and Tulane, but gains Syracuse, Louisville, Pitt, West Virginia, and TCU.

12 or 16 team conference works better than 14. Since TV contracts are such big money nowadays just expand.

Ours should. Kick Ole Miss from the West and Missouri from the East and call it good.

Yeah, I don't care they're a charter member. That shouldn't give Ole Miss a lifetime pass on being giant douchebags.

Should be 16 members. Play 7 in-division opponents, 2 opposite division (play all 8 in 4 years), 2 more P5 games and 1 cupcake.

We will leave as soon as Arkansas manages to beat us. Or at least be competitive.
