Lincoln Riley, and you also need to look at Sark’s recent track record at Texas. Ewers & Manning were two of the highest rated recruits in history. Did either develop into their potential under Sark’s guidance at Texas?
Maybe. But I'd bet on Manning just not yet getting it considering Sarkisian's history;
Ewers (who was at least drafted and still in the NFL)
Mac Jones
Tua Tagovailoa
Jake Locker
Carson Palmer, Matt Leinart, Mark Sanchez not to mention the back QBs at USC he had drafted

The default to side arm when he is panicking is what throws me. He would be better off eating the ball or throwing it away. The majority of his picks come from this.
I know Brady, Farve and Roethlisberger all did it...but Arch ain't them.
Thanks Warby-Parker.

Imo Sark isnt running an offense that is conducive to getting the most out of Arch and playing to his strengths. The side arm stuff is bad but mechanically by far his worst issue imo is his feet. When a QB throws the ball he should have his feet firmly planted on the ground, not on the balls of his feet, not drifting back, etc, and facing in the direction of where he is about to deliver the ball. This is how QBs get accuracy, whereas arm strength comes from a different part of your throwing mechanics.
One of the best examples ive seen of how this is done correctly recently is last weekend Gunner against Alabama. If you go back and watch all 22 passes he threw, nearly ever single one his feet are absolutely perfectly placed for how QBs are taught to play the position and for delivering the ball with total accuracy. It is why he threw some incredible dimes into some insanely tight windows.
But again why isnt Sark designing his offense to play to Archs strengths as a player, and his offensive roster as a whole. Where are the designed QB runs. They should be doing 8-10 of these a game especially since theyre struggling so bad running the ball traditionally.
Why are there SO MANY extremely long developing plays that are usually not blocked well enough to give him the time he needs for these kind of routes to get to where they can break open so he always gets destroyed if he gets the ball out with bad mechanics because he is panicking, or he just gets sacked.
Coleman and Wingo are incredibly talented players. Where is the quick and intermediate stuff with those guys to give Arch easy throws to guys who are more than likely always going to beat their defender on things like slants, hooks, mesh, deep outs.
Everything is attempting to push the ball deep down the field, and while Arch throws an incredible deep ball at times, their offense would be a lot better if they did the 2 things I described above way more, Arch would improve his confidence, and its easier to maintain your mechanics on quicker developing passing concepts where you might have an alert receiver on one side of the field, then Coleman on the other as the far wideout and Wingo beside him in the slot where the progession is just 1, Colemen 2. Wingo instead of designing plays with 4 guys in the progression + a hot route and a check down with someone running idk a flare or whatever the frick out of the RB spot or as a TE

Last I saw, #6 quarterback taken and number 24 overall. I guess someone thinks they can coach him up. It did not list the 5 in front of him.

Nearly every single one his passes idiot, and I’m not a “coach” nor am I particularly overly well versed in these types of things
But I know the basics and a bit more beyond that. It’s very easy to diagnose what the issues with arch’s mechanics are, and it just so happens Stocktons play against Alabama demonstrates how footwork should look like as a QB when throwing so it was an easy example.
You sound a bit upset your team were hailed as world beaters with the next Lamar Jackson at QB until he faced a real defense then went full Mateer and played an absolutely horrible game proving him nor State are ready for prime time.
Haven’t gone back and watched that absurdly putrid performance by him against bama but if I do I assume I would see glaringly obvious mechanical breakdowns by Taylor in that game too.

Perhaps the Manning family brain trust is already exploring this option.
They already have a plan and will dictate which team he will play for in the NFL.

I was just messing with you. It was actually pretty funny. Not enough to earn a lol IRL but still a solid joke on your part.
Allow me to bestow upon you an upvote as compensation for my perhaps over aggressive posture in my initial reply

The majority of teams they face are all easier minus LSU who is better than OU. Everyone else isn't in the top 25

Texas might bounce back then. Or they could lose another game they shouldn't...like LSU with Kentucky.

Arch might be a Top 10 QB among draft eligible QBs....but absolutely NOT a Top 10 overall draft pick. He's not even a Top 10 SEC QB. This name recognition thing is wearing thin. We have all seen enough to know he's fleet-average at best. He's not going in the first or second round. NFL teams aren't that stupid.

Yes he should stay in college and not get paid as much as a top 10 draft pick. Are you really this stupid?

The Mannings HATE LSU and Lane Kiffin.! I was in the stadium when the Tigers beat him 63 -18. We pelted the field with Oranges because we were headed to the Orange Bowl. Guess that's the reason....who cares! NOT A MANNING FAMILY FAN!!!

If those two are yes… then he needs to transfer to a Kiffin/LSU Deboer/Bama… or similar Coach/team..
The Mannings don't like Lane or LSU at all.
You guys already have Keelon.

Ya doubt that. Saints have proven they will do what it takes to win. Even ending Kurt Warner’s career on a bounty. Cowboys would be a better fit.

This is true in terms of how much the SEC hates Arch (kind of sad, really) but this sentiment is really based more on Arch’s “choosin’ Texas”. I get that it was difficult for most on this board because Texas is resented for its history, money, privilege etc. and its fans aren’t the local conference shills shouting “SEC, SEC…” at games. We pull for our team and always will. Regardless, Arch is an excellent kid and his time will come.
