But you would have to know what his money situation was like before this to know if he is sitting on money.

But that would not be very hard to figure out, would it? Seems to me with as many people snooping around out there we would have heard a story if there was anything to write about....
Doesn't Cecil's oldest son (Cecil Jr) play in the UFL? And, doesn't Cam use the same agent that his older brother uses? There are ways for Cecil to hide money ~ the NCAA didn't request financial records from the older brother or his agent did they?
Just a thought.

Has he said this? All I've seen him say is that he doesn't know if the guy will spill the beans.
Yes he did. Basically he said a witness has named the batman, but there is no proof UNLESS the alleged batman confesses.

Yeah, he specifically says that he cannot vouch for the truthfulness of the witness.... that he's only relaying that the NCAA has indeed identified a witness.

Yes. The link to his interview is earlier in the thread around page 2 or 3. If you have time, listen to it and see for yourself.

It does seem weird but I completely trust the Yahoo Sports guys because their record is flawless.
Has a yahoo sports guy indicated the story was about auburn, if a story even exist that is?
Forgive me for being dense, but is the leap here that Danny waiting to name the source, is related to a yahoo story that may or maynot be about auburn, and may or may not exist at all.
If we're just playing connect the dots that's fine and i love a good leap of faith, but i just wnat to be clear that's what's being said.

That right there is pretty damning, IMO.

Why? Why could/would he not just sit on the money or have found ways to spend the cash discreetly and "off the books?"
Spending patterns are analyzed as well, you used to eat at mcdonald's now you eat at a steak house every day. Or your spending habits increase, if you have a lot of cash you are going to spend some more cash. All of this was looked at by the NCAA and nothing was found. Either he got the cash and burried it in his yard or never got it.

Does the NCAA outsource to PwC or something? Do they have in-house forensic auditors?

Not totally true.
You can go from eating steak and paying with credit to paying cash. Also Mr. Newton turned over what he wanted to turn over.

This has crossed my mind. Mostly as a joke at first, but those people are batshit crazy, so it might not be that far fetched.
