I have a feeling the Yahoo August bombshell story and Sheridan's comments/source are all somehow related.
Like I mentioned above, why would it take Sheridan 2-3 weeks to get a name? Doesn't that timing seem odd unless it's somehow connected to the release of the Yahoo story.

Quite possible.
The onlything that i might argue woudl be that if i'm a rival journalist, and i can break a story, i doubt i'd wait for someone else to beat me to the punch.
But then again I also don't feel like reading all these post, and if someone could tell me where all this stands i'd appreciate it.
We headed to CUSA?

Who knows where it all stands, but Sheridan seems pretty adamant that the NCAA has identified someone connected with the transaction and that if this person talks and if this person is being truthful that it will be panic time for Auburn. On the flip side, he says that if they can't get this person to talk and/or this person is not being truthful then the case will probably be dropped.

Did i not read something wehre he put the odds of the person talking, or conversly auburn going down at 50/50? I'm asking honestly becuase so much gets lost as bullshite in these threads that it's hard to parse out what matters.

Yeah, he is basically saying that he has no idea if the witness will "offically" talk and/or the witness is being truthful ... Just that his source tells him that the witness has been identified and the case pretty much hinges on said witness.

Gotcha...well considering the history of this story i'm going to reserve panicing until the bagman is identified by the source to danny, who's name he won't give, talks to the NCAA and implicates himself as the bag man and auburn/or prominent booster as the payer, and said bagman/witness is telling the truth.
Certainly not something to scoff at, but that's still a lot of ifs. I can live with ifs.

I have a source who has close contacts in the FBI. This source says that the FBI is aware of a person with knowledge that Danny Sheridan is a cocaine dealer. He says that the FBI is not sure if this person will come forward, but if he does, Sheridan's done and will absolutely go to federal prison for a long time. There's a good chance of this, but I estimate that it's pretty close to 50-50 with a slightly better chance that nothing will come of it. And I hope it's not true, because it would make the state of Alabama look bad for a guy like Sheridan to be convicted of something like this.

Big difference in what the NCAA is able to do and what the FBI is able to do. The NCAA has no way of making a witness come forward the way the FBI can. If he would have said the FBI knows who the bagman is there would be no doubt, it would be 100% that something would happen. JMO.

Maybe Danny is waiting for yahoo to name the bagman, so he can come out a week later and claim he has identified the bagman..
