Told Mal Moore he couldnt win the SEC without the best players, and he worked so hard they put in the "Saban Rule" because he went to every HS all day every day recruiting.
Anybody can pay a player. It took a few yeas for Saban to dominate recruiting. He did it at LSU and he did it at Bama.
If not for Mack Brown uTX may have stoled him away from bama.

He paid players. Everyone who won a BCS ring did too. He paid players and developed them better than anyone else during the BCS era, though that does have something to do with Bama knowing they were immune from prosecution.

All Saban did was say the only thing he could say. Gillis messed up when he half assed apologized for it. Never apologize for jokes, especially when they strike a nerve like that one.
