Agreed.

And I love RGIII, but damnit after the Auburn game everyone was ready to crown Richardson. Then RG3 plays on Championship Saturday.

Oh well, rather have the title.

Milliner too low. Mathieu shouldn't be on the list at all.

You're stupid. TM7 accomplished more individually than any Bama DB ever. There is a short list of true sophs to win the Bednarik award. It begins and ends with ONE NAME. There is a short list of true soph DPOY IN THE SEC it begins and ends with one name.

He "accomplished" so much did he not? He accomplished more than Milliner but aren't you going a little far saying he accomplished more than ANY Alabama DB? Again what is it with you idiots and your complete lack of respect for Alabama's history and accomplishments? TM7 is nowhere close to Antonio Langham.

Can this thread DIAF plz

TM7 was an absolute monster and I'm glad we don't have to face him anymore. Any Bama fan saying otherwise is wrong.

This list is fine minus Banks, who actually did get flat out exposed. HB was sick no need to say otherwise. I hope he has a long successful career in Az.

Interesting that Claiborne is on that list...USC's Stephon Gilmore also came out in the same draft and was also a top 10 overall draft pick. Here are some comments:

Watching the #Bills defense, I continue to believe that S. Gilmore is pulling away from M. Claiborne in terms of his pace of development.

USC's secondaries have performed fairly well in recent years:

Pass Defense
2007: SEC= 1st, CFB= 4th
2008: SEC= 1st, CFB= 2nd
2009: SEC= 2nd, CFB= 8th (UF was 1st)
2010: SEC= 10th, CFB= 97th (anomaly)
2011: SEC= 2nd, CFB= 2nd (UA was 1st)
2012: SEC= 5th, CFB= 21st

Also had mostly nationally top-25 passing Ds in the early to mid 2000s, under Holtz. Our secondary was relatively young last season. We return 3 of 4 DBs, and while losing Swearinger was big, our depth at most positions are improved and we should be getting back to being a leader in the SEC in passing defenses soon, in keeping with our DBU status...

TM7 was an absolute beast as an athlete especially with the ball in his hands. Had he took enough offensive snaps in 2011, he definitely could have actually won the Heisman though getting to New York is basically like winning for any Defensive player.

The problem though with calling him a great Corner can easily be seen in his last game in an LSU uniform. He has great catchup speed but that speed cost him when it came to technique. Those plays where Bell or Norwood beat him over the top on Smash route he was beat within 3 yards of the line of scrimmage. You can't call a guy as bad as he was with jams and with getting into phase a top Corner, you just can't. He never took the time to actually learn his craft in that regard. I remember sitting here on the this very board leading up to Dec 7 2012 telling people those exact words. Chavis is very bad at teaching his DB's basic phase and jam technique and has been since he was at Tennessee.

To me the top 5 pure corners in if not the entire BCS era then the post 2006 SEC dominance era are

Peterson, Gilmore, Haden, Claiborne, and either Kirk or Milliner which ever one you want to go with.

Did Gilmore have a major injury at some point in his career? Because I remember him being awesome early in his career and then he never built on it.

You bastard.

It's friday. I'm not going to argue with a group of people, half of which can't follow my logic, the rest of which are too homerific to admit my points, today.

I'm not very confident about the sentence structure above. It's a bit cumbersome, and, perhaps even wrong.
