While I am a firm believer in the mantra that you are never as bad as your worst game or as good as your best, I am flabbergasted that our line against NC State opened as a pick em.

Not a reason in the world for Pitt to not be better than they are. But they are Pitt.
NC State could very well have a very good team this year. I figured them to win 9-10 games this year. MSU be warned

I didn't see the Miss State game. We played NC State in a bowl game and they were decent. I have no idea what their team looks like this year. I have no idea what to make of Pitt or Tennessee.

State is going to have our hands full with NC state. no way we should have beaten La Tech. South Florida must be something awful. I am hoping that La Tech game lights a fire in the coaches and team, and we did see some major resiliency after sleepwalking and quitting most of our game. going to know a lot by the middle of the second quarter.

If State doesn't get the o-line issues fixed then they might go 3-9 this year. I admittedly don't know as much about Tennessee but I know there are issues to be fixed there as well.

I wouldn't take much away from blowout wins against USF and UMass, you're talking about two of the worst teams in the FBS. But I think both NC State and Pitt are more than capable of going on the road and winning this weekend, if not winning big.

If you made me pick today, my hunch would be to take the two ACC teams, but I think both games are true toss-ups. Wouldn't shock me at all to see State and Tennessee play much better this week and the ACC teams struggle in SEC road environments.

If vols play like they did against BG they have no chance. I think we'll see improvement though and hopefully we get Byron Young in this game.

1st and 4th qtr Mississippi State team has a good shot at winning. 2nd and 3rd qtr Mississippi State team has a shot of getting blown out.

Kick them out of the league if they lose.

I mean it's not like they lose by 9 touchdowns at home. I mean WHO DOES THAT?!

Pitt vs UT should be interesting. Heupel and Narduzzi have coached against each other twice in the last few years when Heupel was at UCF. They went 1-1 in that time frame with UCF blowing them out in 1 game and Pitt winning by 1 pt on a game winning drive in the other.

That being said - I've got Pitt in a close one. I like their RS SR QB and the defense under Narduzzi despite the 5 NFL departures from last years squad. I wouldn't be shocked to see this game go either way, but as of right now I think Pitt deserves to be a small favorite.

Absolutely. Both SEC schools need to improve to have a chance.

South Florida went 1-8 last year though. La Tech is usually a solid team about on par with Southern Miss as a program

I mean, Tennessee did win by 32 points. That's good no matter who you are playing. I think they will be solid but not spectacular.

MState looks a lot like last season right now. Spectacular on some Saturdays, lackluster on others. Tiem will tell about them. They had a huge change in offensive philosophy. It'll take them a couple more years to get settled in.

The sad thing is that this was us for many many games. Really hoping we can get through this season without nearly every game being a slow start and 4th quarter melt

We really don't know what we have at State. Was that our best game? Was that our worst game? We have no idea. Coaches were surprised at the inefficiency between 14-0 and the 21-point 4th quarter so I guess that's positive.

Louisiana Tech is a decent program with a good coaching staff. They had 19 transfers that all had playing time at P5 schools. The Oklahoma/West Virginia transfer QB was legit.

But State's offensive line play was seriously bad. Its what plagued us last year when SEC teams rushed three and still got pressure. I think Rogers is fine and our receivers are much improved, but at best we have the same ol shite at OL + our defense doesn't seem as strong.

I thought 6-6/7-5 depending on this game, and still think they find a way to get there. A win this weekend would make me feel a lot better.

If I was NC State I would feel good coming into Starkville.

USF is absolutely awful, but they took care of business like a good team should.

State has a lot to clean up if we're going to have any kind of success this season, especially on the OL.
