Resuming play with the longhorns probably won't happen anytime soon unless it is a bowl game.

Trading a home game against the longhorns every other year for four SEC home games every year is a good deal.

Now on the flip side if they beat us, it would be all over ESPN and they could use that to their advantage in recruiting.

Wait, we still talking about Ole Miss football?

Question, as a fan, would you like to see an OOC game on your teams current schedule replaced with a rival and if so, which game would you cancel to make it happen.

Cancel Louisville and pick back up with IU. UK wins nothing if they win and allows UL a foothold when they lose. UK will still get the KY guys but they do recruit B1G territory. If Stoops really does start to invade OH for football then beating IU in football every year just strengthens his recruiting grip when he goes north.

A C-USA school beating a good SEC team would make it on ESPN.

I know, it was an opportunity to get a cheap shot in, and I took it and ran....

Junior, you made a good point but I still want to play USM......losing to any CUSA team will hurt......I would just rather play our in state C-USA team over Memphis first game of the season.....nothing can hurt a program more or get more ESPN coverage than losing to Jacksonville State.

I'd like to see Alabama-Georgia Tech or Alabama-Florida State annually

ETA: If they have to be in-state, I'd assume play UAB. At least we would get to play in Legion Field occasionally

Give up the Furman game and play Tulane in the Superdome.

That's a lot of money for LSU to give up

According to LSU's web site, of all in-state "Opponents" (and I use the term loosely) only Tulane has beaten LSU more than once.

Football record vs. all in-state
Centenary 3-1-1
Louisiana College 2-0-0
Louisiana-Lafayette 22-0-0
Louisiana-Monroe 2-0-0
Louisiana Tech 18-1-0
Loyola (New Orleans) 4-1-0
McNeese State 1-0-0
Northwestern State 11-0-0
Southeastern Louisiana 1-0-0
Tulane 69-22-7

Unfortunately, if we want a challenge, we have to look out-of-state.

Slim pickin's compared to other states

I wish Florida State played Georgia or LSU annually, then maybe they'd finally stop bitching about us dropping Miami over 25 years ago.

And you're a South Carolina fan. Mentioning anything from your entire history is a cheap shot.

Outside of TCU, I would drop ANY of the three punching bags we have lined up in exchange for a state school. ULL, La Tech, or ULM would at least gave some athletes get off the bus. The three shite sandwich games we have are against pretty pathetic teams IMO. As for Ole Miss. You guys dropped the game after that stretch of losses. It was probably smart at the time (kind of like us with A & M). Now though. you guys should have a decided advantage every year. It would be like playing a better Memphis.

Kentucky beats WKU 9 out of 10 times. They aren't Middle Tennessee and you guys aren't Vandy.

No, not really. They would include it in their SportsCenter highlights, but they wouldn't make a big deal out of it. USM has been a pretty decent team over the years too.

Ole Miss and Miss. State aren't exactly LSU, Bama, USC, or Florida.

Just so everyone knows, they went 0-12 last season.

I thought I remember reading that we owed Tulane one last game in the Dome, as part of getting out of that 10 year H&H?
Anybody know what happened with that?
Selfishly I wouldn't mind LSU playing them in the Dome, with it only 20 minutes away.
