We lose a lot so probably a lot of players sticking around to win starting positions in the spring.

It's early but once again Ole Miss is already having the best portal class.

Lost basically nothing to the portal and grabbing the highest rated players overall as a group.

Lane and the Grove Collective are really effective holding onto our key guys while bringing in quality transfers year after year.

your talking strictly number of players in and out.

this link they are assigned a point value of the ones going out vs the ones coming in...so if your loosing 4 stars and adding 3 stars there's a negative impact.

Its not just 12 out and 6 in

Looks like teams above LSU (and maybe even Florida) are getting hit hard.

And Ole Miss with the only positive net change is interesting to me.

OM loses something like 28 of their xfer guys who are out of eligibility this year. They HAVE to come out with a big + number from the portal, and their portal outbound makes this even worse.

Ole Miss backloads a chunk of NIL to after bowl games so a lot of guys might enter after bowl so they get that last big check.

My Auburn buddy is bragging about them having the #1 portal class with 7 transfers in (2-4*'s and 5-3*) and 12 transferred out.

Look here at this link sorted by LSU, and look at the players with the LSU logo in the "new team" column.

I can't figure what you are counting. Maybe predictions? Counting the same player multiple times?

Yeah, there are dupes where a player was listed twice. I am just using that first link of the thread now.

Before it is all said and done every team is going to lose players if only because they all have to trim their roster down from 125 to 105.

As for what constitutes a "#1" portal class, not sure we have the metrics for such a rating as yet.

I brought this up in another thread. Coaches can't even evaluate all these guys, much less recruiting "experts". The majority of portal guys haven't contributed to their former teams so how are they supposed to be currently evaluated?

Some, not all, of the players leaving are “busts” and not capable of playing big time college football. And the players being signed by those same programs are mostly proven at other schools and likely to contribute. So it’s just another way of trimming the fat and replacing the “fat” with better quality.

Purely looking at the numbers of players leaving vs players coming in is not always an apples to apples comparison.

Correct me if I am wrong but only 85 of those 125 were schollie players.

All 105 next season will be schollie players.

Few teams kept a roster of 125.
