Downgrading final fours makes no sense to me other than we don't have any so it's some sort of instinctual response.

IMO the celebrating Final Four discussion tends to separate long time basketball fans from newer ones.

I just found the OP's not-so-subtle line in the sand amusing but not nearly as amusing as the follow up assertion that Final Fours aren't even a noteworthy achievement.
Bama has had a terrific season so far. Could end up with cutting down nets in the regional final and even more. But ain't nobody gonna lie down and just let them waltz to the Final Four as Kentucky fans well know.

There were a few Bama fans who argued this a couple of weeks ago (that Final Fours shouldn’t be celebrated). And it was just as silly then. I don’t know a Final Four team, blue blood or not, who doesn’t celebrate them.

And I guarantee there will be at least a banner hung in Tuscaloosa if they make a Final Four and it will be widely celebrated if it happens. As it should be.

Yeah, I can't imagine there is any school in America that doesn't have a banner hanging from the rafters for any Final Fours their men's and women's shooty hoops teams have been to.

I know we put the 2nd place playoff trophy in the dining hall so we wouldn't forget. I'm sure it would take a forensic scientist to find it today.

That there’s a distinct different in CFB measures of success (particularly for a traditional school) and CBB success. It’s an apples and oranges comparison.
There’s absolutely no way you don’t celebrate a Final Four if you get one. Y’all acting like you won’t is just silly.

UNC, Duke, Kentucky, and UCLA all hang banners for Final Fours. Those are the top 4 teams in terms of most Final Fours historically.
Some Bama fans acting like they’d be above celebrating a Final Four is chuckle worthy.

I thought Kentucky was Alabama in basketball. Do you mean 2nd place is good enough?
