And you're trying to make "1998" a thing and its pissing you off it won't catch on

Since the time I was born UT has always been seen as the 2nd best SEC program historically so you would think they'd have more overall success.
VOLS have had national success in the 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, 80s, and 90s. Back when success wasn't necessarily measured solely by national championships. If you grew up in the 80s/90s, at that time, VOLS were getting a lot of love because we were good at the time and had a good history. There was no 15 year period of total suckage to consider. We were the 1st or 2nd best team in the SEC in pretty much every statistic (wins, win pct., bowl wins, draft picks, first rounders, natties, conference championships, etc.) and AU, LSU, UGA, UF hadn't collected those 21st century natties yet. 25 years ago, VOLS were the 2nd best team in the SEC historically and were backing it up by being elite on the field.
That designation stuck around for a while but once AU, UF, LSU, UGA started wining natties while we were floundering, its hard to make an argument for it anymore

1998 is a thing because that's the last time y'all even won the SEC. Y'all get mad thinking it's about a natty.

1980 was a thing because we were regularly close to sniffing a natty without getting there. Same doesn't really apply to Tenner since 1998

Georgia
LSU
Florida
Florida passed a lot of teams but has now crashed and caused a huge pileup.
yuge!

ThrFourHorsemen 633
Vanderbilt 618
Mississippi State 586

I'm not mad. I'm pretty aware of our football history.

And to think UT won 9 in a row in the 90's and now UGA leads the series by 5 games.
The 90's were a miserable time for UGA fans.

Butch Jones never lost to an FCS team that completed 0 passes.
He also never did this.
But Butch Jones did do one thing no other Tennessee coach has ever done...lose 8 games in a season. Then again...Muschamp is only one of a couple of coaches to do that at Florida.

What?
You lost to a 4 loss UGA team and 3 loss LSU team that I believe was ranked 21st.
So I wouldn't consider that "sniffing" a NC.
And yes, that team was loaded and had no business losing to either team. One of fat Phil's worst coaching jobs.

1994-Now LSU is 7-3 against Tennessee
1925-1993 Tennessee is 18-3-3

Tennessee is barely .500 in the 21st century.
They were a good program before 2000. They are a mid tier program now.

Data can be used to tell very different stories depending on how they are compiled.
LSU didn't play Tennessee between 1993 and 2000. So, since 2000, LSU is 7-3 against Tennessee. From 1989-2005, Tennessee was 5-2 vs LSU Also, since 2022, Tennessee is 1-0 vs LSU.
In Baton Rouge, Tennessee is 9-4-2 against LSU.

Lmfao. Where is ole piss in thus equation?
Football and sports are cyclical and ONLY Bama and UGA have more wins than us from the code SEC so sit down and stfu. UGA has only 16 more total wins than us or something and we are returning to national championship form with haste recently.
Word out of camp is that we are so much deeper than previous years and our two deep is better than anyone nationally. You turd muffins are scared and you should be.
I expect STATEMENT wins over Oklahoma and Florida to set the tone this year. I'm not talking about close victories I'm talking about running track meets on both of them.
