That's why I always travel with a gun. Hope this guy recovers soon.

ETA: If this story is true to begin with.

If the story is true, it is terrible and I feel sorry for the guy and his family.

But the first thing I though when I read it. Was that it sounded like one of the tall tales Barners leave Baton Rouge with. The only thing missing was granny punching.

I know, I want to see proof. We don't know anything about the OP.

I hope it's not true, but if it is, terrible people.

An LSU fan got his arse whipped bad Saturday in Morgantown. Some WV fan threw a rock through the window of the guy's car while they were stopped in traffic, the rock hit someone in the car, words were exchanged, and then a gang of WV fans pulled the driver from the car and beat the ever living **** out of him. His wife, who is pregnant, jumps out to stop it because it's so bad. She gets thrown to the ground, but her and the baby have been checked out and are fine. The guy has a fractured forehead, broken nose, and eye socket. He's scheduled for surgery as soon as the swelling goes down.

The guy's name is Marcus Mason. He's from Natchez. His wife's name is Hannah. They have a 2 year old too. This is his wife's last facebook post.

Via Marcus' wife:

"Overwhelmed by all the posts, prayers, and concerned friends- thank you all, I cannot say thank you enough. I just left the hospital to try to let us rest. After several sorts of trauma/ER teams at UPMC Presbyterian (I think there were 6) examined Marcus up and down, they've deducted that 1) He has no brain injury, though his frontal bone is fractured right in the middle of his forehead, yet it will heal on its own, 2) He has a shattered bone in his eye socket that needs replacing with a couple of screws and a plastic plate? but his vision is good, 3) His nose is severely broken but will somehow be straightened out, 4) His shoulder is NOT broken but feels as though it is, and 5) No one can break his sense of humor. So many precautions were taken and tests were done today that the surgery will be tomorrow. I am very sore but holding a precious boy on my lap, one in my tummy, and the other in my heart. These boys are my life that I cannot imagine without them. Marcus' first words when his friends walked in, "HOW 'BOUT THEM TIGERS?!"

shite like that pisses me off to no fricking end! Here's hoping that Marcus fully recovers and quickly.

Situations just like this why responsible citizens get a concealed carry gun permit and use it to protect themselves and others. I would have no reservation whatsoever using my Beretta PX4 Storm Sub Compact to protect my family or someone like Marcus and his family from a bunch of damn thugs.

For sure. I have two pistols and a shotgun in my truck at the present
I usually only keep one pistol though for protection, one is in there right now because it is fun to shoot targets with and the shotgun is still there from dove season. Give me another week and we can fight Robinhood style

If this story is true I wish "Marcus" well, and I hope he recovers quickly.

As far as the WV fans that may have done this, I'm not sure how to react. The idea that a group of people would do this to a fan and his family is disgusting.

I don't know if any of this is true, but just the idea of it is leaving me angered.

We warned you guys.

Yes we did. And alot of you wanted them in this conference. Why doesn't WV take measures to clean up that place. It has had that type of reputation for years. Have any of you LSU fans seen the picture of the T shirt that was being sold by an WV person? Wait till you see that.
