I would say the strong auto industry is what's helping SC and Alabama, but Mississippi also has auto industry presence

Kentucky also has strong auto industry, Ford has two super large truck and Lincoln plants in Louisville, Toyota and Lexus plant in Georgetown, Chevy builds the Corvette in Bowling Green

A: Kentucky is the third largest state in the country with respect to automotive production, surpassed only by Michigan and Ohio in total vehicles produced per year. There are about 490 automotive manufacturing firms and related manufacturing sites around the state producing cars and trucks and parts for cars and trucks all over the world.

Toyota has been a major boon for Georgetown. Its amazing how much that town has grown the last 20 yrs. Best BBQ in central KY is on the Fayette/Scott Co line.

Did they sell it off? I know they purchased it in the early 2000 I think. Around the same time they purchased Jaguar.

Ford used to own Volvo.

So they did sell it off?

Edit. It appears that Geely actually owns them now. Interesting. Geely makes Lotus I believe.

Yeah, but at a cost. They’re getting the jackasses that are evacuating California.

Considering 30% of Florida's population makes $0 because they're retired, this skews the "median" income quite a bit

Florida has 20.5% of its population over the age 65. South Carolina has 17.7% of its population over the age of 65. So once again, there isn't much of a difference between the two states to back up your argument.
