Didn't most of those rules go out the window a few years back. It goes Playoffs, NY6, Citris, Group of 6, then Indy & Birm (not sure if they have any order). The SEC selects the group of 6.

Yea, there aren't specific rules, but the SEC clearly works with the bowls to get teams they want there.

If A&M goes 7-5 and fires Sumlin, you think Bowls that are plane rides away from Houston/Dallas are going to want them to come?

Who will VOLS be losing to iyo, SoG?

I got the Vols down for losses : @ Florida, @ Alabama and @ Missouri (wildcard loss).

Got them beating LSU and Georgia at home, though, and beating Tech in the Benz.

And then who knows, 9-3 could send somebody to the Citrus or even the Peach depending on everybody else.

I was kind of shocked Arkansas went to Charlotte last year.

We blew the chance at Nashville last year. If we end up with 6 or 7 wins, Texas bowl would probably be our most likely spot this year.

I wouldn't be shocked if A&M turns down a bowl if they fire Sumlin. But Liberty is one that requires a plane ride for most Aggies. Its 9-10 hours from College Sation.

Makes sense. I guess the only real "easy" drives of those games would be the Texas Bowl and the Independence Bowl.

Regardless, F U for having us lose to UCLA.

I struggled with that one. Honestly, I think there is a chance A&M is better than people think. They are one of those programs that the media was so high on and then faultered for a couple of years and now everyone is over the top off the train. However, they weren't awful any of those years, and their roster is still good. They've got pretty good depth on defense and the Chavis defense should be thoroughly in place and set up. Great WR, good RB, decent schedule.

I still don't believe in Sumlin, but I could them at 7-3 or even 8-2 heading into the last 2 road games. There is also the potential for an opening loss in LA, a loss to Arkansas and then the entire thing falling apart. Tough team to read, but I think it's funny to see everyone assume 6-6/7-5 just because they were scarred in previous years.

One thing I have said multiple times this off season. If we don't beat A&M this year we never will with Bert. We also have our bye right before the game.

That is going to be a huge game. Maybe not nationally or even conference champ wise, but that game is gonna be a deathmatch battle and the loser is going to have a massive hole to climb out of to save his job.

Well damn. That scenario would have my feels all over the place. You are more optimistic about VOLS than I am, elite football mind George

I still think a non Big 6 wins the east. No idea which one though. One of them will surprise.

Of the Big 6:

Georgia is my favorite team from the east, but if their oline isn't leaps and bounds better than last year they aren't going to win their division.

Florida has won ugly the last two years. Their D will still be good but not as good as last year, too many lost players. Their offense will still be bad. Franks is a true freshman that will have growing pains. Zaire isn't that great tbh.

Tenn, to me is the most likely of the 3 to win the east. I know Botch isn't wonderful, but they would have won the east last year without the massive injuries. If the new QB/RB step up they have a shot.

I think you guys will be better than last year. However, I really didn't factor in the random Butch game where he gets all red and crosses his arms and basically turns into a statue. Could be Kentucky this year, maybe even Tech.

If Florida goes 11-2 with a loss in the SECCG they are going to a NY6 Bowl, no doubt.

I think the defense should be much better and the offense has potential to be very good. However, Dormady and possibly Guarantano are huge unknowns and I'm skeptical about how Butch will go from a QB like Dobbs to a more pocket passing type.

God bless Dormady's soul if Butch tries to use him like he did Worley.

If he loses to Tech, I have zero doubt the wheels are going to come off this entire thing. If/when that does happen, I want the fricking Battle Captain roaming the sideline one more time in Neyland, on an interim basis.
