Florida is the only road venue I've ever been to where multiple people around me took their shirts off because they were hot and wanted a tan in the upper deck.
Sophistication abounds.

An SEC stadium with < 70,000 capacity is embarrassing.
Not really. You build what's appropriate to your fan attendance. Kentucky swapped amenities like suites, a new recruiting area, etc for capacity. And they'll make money that way.

Yea, it said up to 80,000 with the extra bleachers so I just went with that one since it was the biggest.

This took a while to compile. Thanks.

You should check it out. Your fellow Gators up there appeared to have crawled out of the nearest swamp and/or 1980's consignment shop.
So, like Bama fans?

No - nothing like them, actually. A weird hybrid of Miami Vice and the swampiest of LSU fans. It's own weird, Florida-esque essence.

Minor correction for A&M. According to wiki it was 33,000-seat horseshoe (since 1929). Capacity was raised to 41,500 in 1953 when a partial second deck and a pressbox were added.
Then they finished up the 2nd deck in 67 so your 1975 is accurate.
In the 80s they added the 3rd deck. A little at a time.
Right before 2000 (1999) they turned the horseshoe into " the zone".
->
Now we have the Kyle field we all know and love.

With every SEC game being televised...the days of stadium expansion (at least for the biggest stadiums) is over.
Agreed. Attendance is actually a growing problem these days too nation wide.

Wonder how much of it has to do with the price of tickets going through the damn roof? $110.00 is the face value for the Auburn/Clemson game this year. Crazy.

Nope. Nothing like Bama fans at all.

Before the new renovation, Kyle Field was one of the shittiest (literally) stadiums I have ever been too. The "Tackle Box" was a great name for it. Looks 1000000x better now

No need to get crazy now.
But seriously, good post. Thanks for the pictures, and bits of information.

Yea, everyone thinks of Alabama fans as a cross between Don Johnson and Bobby Boucher.

Combination of ticket prices (actually overall experience price...parking, food, refreshments). If every game is televised, it's a hard sell to have Joe Fan drop a few hundred dollars when they can watch it at home for free.

Truth. At LSU we have the great white wall.

We need to put a big brass LSU on there. Or maybe a giant banner that can be changed over time.
