Yeah, the way the build is being structured is why we are going up so high this season. It won't be completed

Is that a classroom or is that a football meeting room?

It used to be the primary team meeting room until 2006 when the Football Operations Center opened. Now, I don't think it gets used much.

The Lawton Squad Room is a state-of-the-art facility that gives the LSU football program one of the finest football meeting rooms in the country. Located adjacent to Tiger Stadium, the Lawton Squad Room has seating for 140 athletes. The room features plush individual seating in a comfortable theater-like atmosphere. In addition, the room has all of the audio and visual accompaniments necessary for meetings, reviewing of game tapes and lectures. Other features of the facility include a multi purpose room for various events as well as a display area for LSU football memorabilia.

This wonderful addition to LSU's facilities was made possible through the generosity of the late Mr. Bill Lawton of Lake Charles, Louisiana.

Correct. That is just an amazing project to be completed in only two seasons.

10rc will not like this. Seats in Neyland will get even smaller now.

I had 2 classes in the Lawton Room as a student. Pretty sure the Sports Admin program uses it regularly for senior level classes.

Why 109K people would consistently show up for a team that will never crack the top two in its division is beyond me.

It is not your duty to wonder why. Just be thankful they do and note the increase in your AD revenue.

Everything I've seen says Mizzou will be around 72 or 73k. Where did you see 77?

I'll be truthful... After this wave of expansion, I'd be surprised if the top half of that list tries to expand anymore with nothing but reports of declining attendance.

We started with 71,000 in 2012 then reduced to 67,000 for 2013 (due to expansion) and with the upgrade we'll have a capacity of 77,000 in 2014

How are the expansion projects coming?

Just going off what you're Mizzou brother said. Also going by this article:

I've been to a game at Neyland. That stadium AT BEST seats 90,000. They keep expanding their seating capacity without any construction. They may be able to (one day) jam 102K+ in there, but it isn't because of the same reasons that LSU, Bama, or A&M can fit 102K+ into their stadiums.

Except for adding premium seating. Everyone is chasing after that dollar. In an age where people can stay at home and watch the game in HD, stadiums have to give people a good reason to come watch in person. Premium seating does that.

I agree with your larger point, but TAMU has enjoyed relatively unflagging football attendance even in down years.

Here's hoping that continues. Not for the sake of further expansion, but rather to continue the strong 12th Man tradition.

LSU senior associate athletic director Eddie Nunez said the twin video boards will go up later this spring and that the construction won't hamper the LSU spring game on April 5 nor the Bayou Country Superfest May 23-25.

"All indications are we will be right at the 100,000 mark, up to about 101,000," Nunez said.

Construction is round the clock right now. They put a couple workers on the video board during the baseball game Friday.
