Or he fell on the sword for Saban and bounced to the NFL for a bit...

read an article about bo. he didn't fall on sword for saban. what he did wasn't really that bad, but he lied about it and that was the issue. iirc, he talked to jrs on a hs campus during a dead period and lied about it to ncaa and on form coaches sign annually about whether or not they've reported every violation to their compliance.

and he didn't bound to nfl at first. he drove a truck for a couple of years. it was really tough for bo. he didn't fall on a sword for anyone. he was dumb and paid a massive price (too much of one if you ask me) for it. hope he's back in coaching somewhere in april.

well, do you watch football? college and nfl, or just one or the other?

I can think of john allen and daron payne as 1st rounders just off top of my head. and the Williams kid will be another 1st rounder this year. 3 years and 3 first rounders likely resonates with these kids. we don't have to like it, but to deny the reality is dumb

3. Dean (very minimal confidence there but coaches seem adamant they did enough to get him, so I'll roll with it)

basing this off what? personal conversations with them?

He better play in the NFL and be set for life, because he will never be able to come home and find viable work.

this stupid arse shite. no wonder we lose players to out of state programs every year. it's obvious to them most people don't actually care about them, they only care about how the player can help our team. those kids are thinking, 'nope. they don't really care about me, so I better care about myself'.

Bama had Minkah Fitzpatrick, Calvin Ridley, Payne, and someone else leave early last year I think. They have like 2-4 guys go early every year. This isn't just an LSU problem. They just do a better job of having the next guy up ready to go IMO

Blame the kids for taking the easy way out

When I first read this I thought, 'this is why I don't post much here. how is going to Bama and competing everyday in practice against other really, really good players just for a shot to get on the field the "easy way out"'?

Then I read the rest of your post and I totally agree.

All of the LA kids that go to Bama feel disrespected for some reason.

probably has zero to do with some of our fans treating them horribly for their decisions about their own lives, making horrible statements about them, and telling them they aren't welcome back in the state

he states he didn’t see himself in UGA RB rotation with the # of 5-star RBs in front of him

not sure how to take this. I'd like to see a kid be more willing to compete and be more confident in himself, but I also want him in P&G.

he expects he may need Tua to go the whole way, and out of courtesy to Jalen, listed him as possibly out just in case he does need Tua for all 4? At least that way he DNP due to "injury" instead of DNP CD.

now we're getting crazy. this doesn't seem like something saban would even do AND I'm pretty sure I saw somewhere that hurts had some type of procedure. there were pics going around of him in a hospital like post surgery.

2. I clearly wasn't the only one that message was conveyed to. The CB's on 24/7 were rolling in steadily

Maybe you know a ton and have connections. Or maybe you read the tea leaves like CB's on 24/7 and you make educated guesses to get out ahead of a story. At this point I'm not sure which it is but I'm started to assume tea leaf reading is more of a possibility than I did before.

FACT, SURTAIN Sr. Told coaches that Jr was all LSU two days before signing day. Bash the hell out of me but that's a fact.

Ok. Happy to oblige. You don't know that to be a "fact". None of us do. Some want to believe it because for some reason it would make them feel better like the staff got lied to instead of the kid just felt like playing at Bama was a better option for him. I hate it, but he's probably right at this point in our history.

As for the kid THIS thread is about, he sounds like a beast. I love his attitude and how he wants to be different, leave Alabama, and make a name for himself. I do find it funny though that if a Louisiana kid said the same thing about leaving to go to Bama I'd be pissed and the rest of you would too

Smith only went to Alabama because Saban don't give two shits if his players smoke reefer, fact!

we are the worst sometimes. maybe he went for a chance to win championships. maybe he saw that they too can put people in the nfl. we aren't the only school who puts players in the league you know.

as for saban not caring if his players smoke, remind me how many drug tests Mathieu failed before Les booted him.

I can't remember a Bama DB that was as popular as Peterson or Mathieu.

As popular to who? We're LSU fans. Of course our players are going to be more popular to us.

You don't think Collins gets hyped like crazy in the NFL? I mentioned it in another thread where someone said Minkah wasn't a household name but that kid just became the first defensive player since PP7 to win the Thorpe & Bednarik in same season. He's as household as a college DB gets, really. He's probably a top 10 pick too.

We really need to shift our focus from "players being household names" to our team winning games against Bama and championships. Who cares if a player is well known if it doesn't result in WINS for us?!

It probably depends on the player as well, but I haven't seen Bama players elevated the way Matthieu, "the Honey Badger" and Patrick Peterson were.

well, Honey Badger was just on a different level man!

quote:

I don't see Bama players get the individual accolades as much

Like I said, PS2 is gonna be a star wherever he goes. My point was just that we sound like homers when we say our guys become stars and their guys don't. Fitzpatrick just won the Thorpe & Bednarik. Last guy to do that was PP7, so their guys reach that level too. To say it doesn't happen makes us look just as homerish as them.

Plus, at Bama you are just a cog in the machine. Here you can achieve superstar status.

I want this kid to be a Tiger as much as the next guy but I see people post things like this and it reminds me that all college fans are homers. Including us.

I'd say Minkah Fitzpatrick was more than a cog in their machine. That guy achieved superstar status.

If PS2 comes to LSU it will be because we've been on him so long and Raymond has developed a great relationship with him. It won't be because he couldn't be a "superstar" at Bama. That kid will be a star wherever he goes.

I understand they are selling championships. We can still see the NFL. Do you want to win a ring in college football or a pro bowler in the NFL? Becuase we have done both better than anyone.

They had 4 Pro Bowlers this year and 5 or 6 last year. We need to make the argument about his ties to Louisiana, how much LSU needs him and what a difference he can make here. Trying to pitch championships, 1st round draft, or pro bowls seems to me like it plays just as much to Bama as it does us. We need to sell things they can't offer. That's hopefully what Coach O and Raymond are doing.

I've seen this a lot. what's the genesis of this and is it all speculative, or do we have anything we can use by way of proof to share with SEC (ha) or NCAA?
many speculating drugs. Have ya'll thought it might be relationship related? Maybe his girlfriend got cheated and he doesn't know how to handle it. Maybe something going on family health and he just wants to focus on that.

I'm sure it'll all come out eventually. Just wish him the best in whatever it is.
