This.

The football blue bloods are usually listed as the following:

Alabama
Ohio State
Oklahoma
Michigan
Texas
Nebraska
Notre Dame
Southern California

Sometimes you'll find Penn State in there but they're debatable and probably on the bubble.

You’ll never meet a fan base more proud of laurels won before the forward pass.

But they’ll always have the John cooper era to be proud of....

Winsipedia says LSU is comin' and they ain't backin' down.

Using the average rank in the following criteria: Winning %, Nat Champs, Conf Champs, Bowl Games, Wins, Bowl Record, All-Americans, Heismans, Draft Picks, 1st Rnd Picks, Weeks at #1, Weeks in Poll

1. USC
2. Alabama
3. Oklahoma
4. Ohio State
5. Notre Dame
6. Texas
7. Michigan
8. Nebraska
9. LSU

We are gaining on the lowest ranked above us by leaps and bounds

Miami, Texas and Colorado could be there too. They used to be powerhouses if not bluebloods that just fell off the map

Tennessee isn't a blue blood. There's only about 7 or 8 teams that can actually claim that title and bama is the only one from the SEC

USC far and away has a better claim than Tennessee. That's the team I was surprised was left out.

Texas, sure.
Miami, they weren't good enough for long enough.
Colorado, eh no.

Definitely not. They dominated from 1985-1992 and again from 2000-2003. Beyond that, they haven't done anything else for consideration.

Out of 126 Division 1 football programs, wouldn't the top 10-15 programs be considered bluebloods?

No, the term doesnt flap in the breeze year to year and is reserved for the elite of the elite. UGA is by all measures a top 12ish program of all time but that doesn't sniff "blue blood" status. Those programs are ones that have pretty consistently won big for 100+ years. The 7th best all time program is going to have a resume exponentially better than the program at 14 or 15. Think of it as the "1% of the 1%"

Yeah could make a better case for USC being in the video than ND imo

Nebraska never ran the Wishbone, but Oklahoma kicked their arse with it most of the time.

LSU isn't a one percenter yet but we're ascending. Easily a top 10 program of all time. Screw Curly Hallman.

Maybe but 5 undisbuted NC's that coulda easily been in the post segregation era is
pretty damn impressive.

Few bluebloods can make that claim including ND,Texas,Ohio State and Michigan.
