That was excellent. Best thing about these are all the little SEC cultural in-jokes. I like that they make them for people who know the conference and it’s history.

That season scarred my childhood: preseason favorites, started out 3-0 and ranked #6, then lost 6 of last 7 in the most heartbreaking ways possible except Arkansas game when team had mailed it in

How did LSU manage to screw it up? I don't remember.

How did they know we thought 1998 was a meh season even though we won the Big 12?

Dinardo brought in Lou Tepper who destroyed the defense. LSU blew every close game they played. Lost 5 games by 6 points or less.

1998 hurt my soul. Let me educate you SEC true sons of our Mizzou heartache. We had some absolute hammers on defense. Such a sound team with huge nuts.

We finally man handled Oklahoma then go on the road to Nebraska who in 1997 became national champs but ONLY beat us because of the illegal “Flea Kicker” play in the end zone as time expired. Well in 1998 the universe was going to fix an injustice and we had like 5 straight throws near or into the end zone at the end of the game & could never connect. A bunch of no calls on the DBs and Corby just missed a wide open receiver in the end zone down the seam. Crushing.

Go on the road to beat Tech and then beat a hyped Colorado. It’s all still on the table @ A&M and Special teams pooped it’s pants at the end of the game after we ran for like 200 yards and lose in heartbreaking fashion then absolutely give away a game to undefeated KState. The 2007 and 2013 teams were so close to going to the national championship game, but the sound physical balance of the 1998 team was among the most heartbreaking after all was said and done. In interviews about that team, other teams almost all said “they knew when they had played Mizzou because they could still feel it the following week.” That maybe old hat for the blue bloods but when you are a middle class program you HAVE to capitalize when you catch it.

Thank you all for this trip down memory lane.

This. First regular comedy feature about SEC sports that actually seems like it's made by SEC fans who happen to be funny.

Love the '98-era Resanant Bank ad in the middle there too
