SEC! SEC! Chant was a topic of conversation today on Sirius XM

Today on Sirius XM 84 ESPN College Sports Jason Horowitz and Ryan Leaf had a conversation about why SEC teams chant SEC SEC SEC like Alabama fans did in Sugar Bowl after UGA won, and then after the game.
Ryan Leaf got it, but said as a Washington State grad he would do the same for PAC 12 except for Washington. JH just didn't get it, then Mr. Danny Kannel came on and whined about the SEC for 10 minutes then had the guts to say that even though he didn't think the playoffs were done correctly he thought Alabama and Georgia were the two best teams.
I know as a graduate of Alabama I will always support any SEC Team playing out of conference foes in every sport.

I think its modern incarnation goes back to undefeated Auburn being left out of the BCS Title game in 2004.

This is only his second thread today, what's the problem?

That and all the Southern Cal fans salty over LSU going to the BCSNCG vs Oklahoma. Sucks to suck I guess.

Yep, every time the bile starts to rise in my throat because of a confrontation with a fan of another cnference team, I remember fans of the Louisvilles, Indianas, UCLAs, Kansases, Dukes and North Carolinas. That takes the edge off quickly.

Just never have time to come on and read or post. Have a career that takes most of my time.

Kannel is such an idiot, him and so many others don't understand the concept of the four best teams, not the four teams with the best record.

It started when the SEC was super powerful, and jealous fans of schools in other conferences didn't like not getting attention the SEC teams received and started trying to bring down the SEC hype and started talking trash about the SEC whenever they had a straw to grasp on to, and so there was a response by the SEC teams fans from that smack talk.

Everyone understands it. This isn't some elusive concept that only SEC fans can understand.
Some of us just don't particularly like the "eye test" being passed off as an objective metric.

You can't just pretend that shite never happened. You can't pretend like you're Phil Fulmer and claim it was just Krispy Kreme glaze.

Interesting take given that no less than 3 national shows started their show(s) with segments about how they don't understand it.
I'd say the SEC's performance in the MNC game is the metric used.

eye test,
There's no eye test involved in evaluating a 31 point loss to an unranked team.
That is an actual, verifiable result.

Kanell said people are tired of the NCAA and the SEC fling.
