Yes it means when Bama was ranked and usually LSU wasn’t - the 90’s alone were the most successful for both Bama & aTm against LSU. How’s that working now?

Much more important than beating Clemson for the Natty as illustrated by the face of Tiger nation, William Taylor.

Club members play nice with other club members.

You wouldn’t understand...

As a Bama fan hell I'm not crying.I'm glad LSU brought the Natty back to the SEC & was happy for my Lsu friends. But like Canyon said earlier it's been more important for most Lsu fans beating Bama than Clemson for the Natty. I'll never understand that. I guess it's because of the 8 game losing streak which on the positive side this game should be back on primetime with them ending that long streak. Let's see if Lsu can back it up with another great season. As far as Bama we should be much better defensively. If not y'all could possibly get that very rare win at home.

I don’t know about most, but there are definitely quite a big number of them that do. They post on Tiger Rant and some even say they would be okay going 1-11 as long as that one is vs Bama. I will never be able to wrap my head around that.

I don't know about this. It's true that LSU plays Bama every year and the road to the Playoffs goes through Bama most years. So we always enjoy beating Bama and can't play Clemson if we don't win that one. So it's a big game no doubt.

LSU was beating Bama in Death Valley, but Bama wasn't ranked.

Yeah. That was the final year of the DuBose era and the Shula years:

2000: Alabama finished 3-8
2004: Alabama finished 6-6
2006: Alabama finished 6-7

The one time LSU defeated a ranked Alabama team in Tiger Stadium was 2010.

No doubt it’s a horrible stat from an LSU perspective. What’s maybe even more strange in the context of that lopsided stat is how Tuscaloosa has been the exact opposite for LSU playing in Bryant-Denny in the modern era— since 1988 when the LSU-Bama series went strictly to playing all Bama home games in Tuscaloosa— the Tigers are 9-7.

If you want to go back and make it an even 40 years since 1980 (the 80’s games were mostly played in Legion field) the game is even more in LSU’s favor at 12-8.

Alabama was ranked in the AP when we beat them in 1998. May be others you missed, but I won't bother to check.

Well for a start, it leaves off 8 LSU wins because Bama wasn’t good enough those years for OP’s arbitrary qualifier.

I’m not digging through the history to find the other errors, but 9-6 and 2019 are two wins at least.

They weren't played in Baton Rouge is why they aren't added.

So let's strike old Saban's LSU team laying a goose egg in 2002 off the record then?

Ah yes, Alabama fans returning to living in the past as their time in the sun reaches it's conclusion. I expect to see more of this sort of thing going forward, very reminiscent what Bama fans were like from the dawn of the internet age through 2009.

Maybe you'll luck into another top 5 all time coach in 30 years
