while this chart itself is just a thinly veiled shot at LSU and shouldn't be taken seriously, I thought I read somewhere many years ago that there's somethign in the state legislature that prevents UNC/Duke from ever splitting up. I could have that wrong. At any rate...I'd be highly surprised if one goes to another conference without bringing the other.

UNC and FSU are a given. My gut says Miami is the next in.

Duke is private and not subject to NC Board of Governors. There would be political pressure to keep UNC and NC State together, but there isn't a statutory law mandating that either.

Notre Dame is never mentioned but should always be #1 for expansion. Only ND and UNC have the power to make the SEC consider expanding again. Period. Notre Dame might not make sense to most people, but it’s simple from both ends…..top 3 brand + best conference = money

The only new media markets would be Virginia and UNC. clemson and FSU add no real value so why give them a slice of the pie when they add nothing? If they are looking to add the North Carolina (Charlotte is UNC packed) and the DC area including the metropolitan area, then you go with Virginia. This is way too simple.
