I am dubious.

Pick any SEC coach besides Saban: how good/different were they 10 years ago?

He's won half the games he won at Ole Miss in half of a season rather than 3. Better talent at LSU, of course, but it's still the fact of.

I don't know.

I will say that people usually get better at their jobs the more experience they get so the odds are that Orgeron has as well.

Would it be possible to be worse?

I'd say he's better, but still not good.

You fired an 8-4/9-3 type coach and hired another 8-4/9-3 type coach.

Prepare for several more years of the same result, just replace eating grass and picking noses with yawyawyaw and binders.

I think he'll try to surround himself with the best staff which is a great start. If he picks up Kiffin then he will have to constantly manage his ego and bad habits. A lot of LSU fans want Kiffin but I couldn't see a worse hire for O.

Yes. That doesn't mean he's necessarily a great coach yet, but I'm sure he learned from his experiences there. Same thing applies with Will Muschamp at SC. He may not be great, but he learned from some of the mistakes he made at UF.

Sure, I would suspect most coaches would improve after each job. The question really is how much though?

Much Better!!!

He was calling running plays and dink and dunk passes to the best RB on earth in the past 25 years.

Now that Fournette is gone, if he gets a GREAT offensive co... He will have them to a 7 or 8 win team in no time..

PLEASE GIVE HIM 4 YEARS MINIMUM!!!!!

Who knows? I'll reserve further judgement until I see what happens this offseason with hires and recruiting. I don't take anything he did as an interim into account at this point.

This is kind of like asking if people think Trump will be a good president on a progressive website.

I think, as one high school coach put it, LSU chose a manager of a Circle K to run a Fortune 500 company. Does this mean a Circle K manager cant run a Fortune 500 company? No. Just less likely
