That isn't hypocrisy. These basement dwelling extra chromsomes are too stupid to understand you can criticize the system you're being forced to operate within.

What was Alabama lacking that required them to pay players? What is it that all these other schools had that Alabama needed to make up for?
Did they have better coaching staffs that made their players NFL ready? Did they have higher %'s of players that would get drafted? Did they have better odds of winning national championships? Did they get better facilities? Did they get better fan support? Did they get better educational support? Better weight and health training?
Who and where is this mythical school that offered more than Alabama did to the point Alabama had to pay players to take them away from them?
Or did Saban and Alabama recruit so well because they offered the players the best in every category possible and you're just a loser making excuses.

No one pouring money into the program cares about player development (or who graduates) beyond what leads to winning. Fans and the PTB would rather Tommy Touchdown have a Tim Tebow college career than a Patrick Mahomes NFL career. I like Saban but the absurd salaries and perks of being a major college head coach are part of the problem with the sport and contributed to what we have now.
College football is 99% a business and entertainment entity. The coaches took advantage of that for years, and now the players are too.
It's obvious you've never managed anything in your life as you are completely clueless about the time it requires and stress that comes along with it.
If what people like Saban was doing was as easy as working at McDonalds, they'd get minimum wage. They make that much because what they do is actually a lot of work and isn't easy at all.

it felt like a joke on the show, but Saban's in a poor position to make this crack after his incessant bleating about how college football is broken and shilling for the PSCA.
The more I watch College Gameday, the more I think Saban is what's wrong with it. I'm not a big McAfee guy, but McAfee is beginning to settle into the role and he'd be better if he was next to a guy who could better steer his energy in the right direction. Saban sits on the stage like a grumpy old man working his way around a press conference. The vibe is totally wrong.
Whatever you thought about Lee Corso, particularly these last 2 or 3 years, Corso was undeniably great at one thing--serving as an unofficial mascot/ambassador for the sport. No one ever thought Corso was pushing an agenda. Saban, so far, has proven a poor replacement for that.

It seems pretty simple to understand Saban’s point. NIL and the portal need to be under control, but as long as it’s the Wild West you might as well do what everyone else is doing.

I had never heard of these guys. But, what a dumb take.

That notwithstanding, if he were coaching, he would absolutely pursue available talent that could help his team or have his team fall behind.
I'm certain no program in the country had that thought and it never crossed Kamario's or his families minds until they heard Saban say it on TV.
