n sticking with my narrative that we're held back by having 56% female student body, and half of them (in Ole Miss' case) never work a day in their lives.
this...the Mrs. degrees arent taken into account.
Same reason TAM and Vandy are so high. The women there are must work to survive.

Lol you don't know many Vandy women.

Annual salary figures (in that range) are meaningless without factoring in cost of living.

Nail on the head. See how far $70,000 goes in
San Fransisco.

The thought that the MRS degree doesn't exist at Vandy is ludicrous...

Isn't that Mayberry/Mt.Pilot? I've always heard that. If so, that's cool.

Agreed. Vandy has one of the best MRS degree programs in the South.

Yes sir, but the folks around here call it "Pilot Mtn". I actually lived in the town next to Pilot called King.
Andy Griffith stuff is big where I lived. Its always on in waiting rooms and stuff like that.

I have degrees in mechanical and chemical eng and took a job with chevron right out of college for more than anyone but vandy, I'm actually surprised the gap isn't bigger from vandy on down
edit: I do have to pay rent and bills in Houston now though

Liberal arts schools are lower because being an engineer pays more than being a teacher or journalist.

Your case doesn't really prove/disprove anything. If what you said is true, it is definitely atypical.
ETA: Basically what I am saying is on those threads on the OT Lounge where people post what they are making. How much do you trust them? That is basically what payscale is doing. Taking those numbers and reporting them as fact.

That's the average.

This is only what we report to the government. We've got accounts in the Caymans to get around this.

I really hate that we live in a society that's getting boners over making $70k a year. Come. On.
